Oliver Tichmann’s comedy is best described as biting, surrealist political satire that holds up a mirror to contemporary South African politics.

Tichmann’s comedy captures that exact sense of a “grotesque wonderland” where the reality of the news is already so bizarre that the satire almost writes itself.

While his work is designed to leave readers in stitches, it is never just empty mockery. His comedy serves a dual purpose: it acts as a much-needed emotional release valve for the public while simultaneously challenging readers to soberly look at institutional absurdities.
