The AAA seminar was all I hope it would be: it was lovely to meet the students, the guest presenters - all 6 of them were great and all agreed that Bridget O'Neill Wolmarans's lectures were the best.
Now for the Pretoria Basic Courses seminar!
Karen and Lily were terffic - congratulations to both! The annual AAA seminar starts tomorrow and I am really looking forward to meet the students. I have invited a number of AAA practitioners who inspire me with what they do and I am sure that the seminar will be an unforgettable experience for us all. I usually get so carried away that I completely forget to take a fe photos - but I will try my best!
Reminder to watch EA's Cape Town agent Karen Gray Kilfoil today (Friday) on SABC 3 - 15h45!
Good news today! Dr Freddie Hurly has passed (not the I doubted her for a minute!) the Australian Board exams to become a "Fellow' of their Animal Behaviour Specialist group. We are so proud of her and that she is part of the Ethology Academy team. If people ask 'Why study through EA' the answer is 'Just look at the excellent academic qualifications and practical experience of our presenters"
Freddie is now enjoy a much deserved holiday in Australia and will be back next week to present the Basic course seminar in Centurion.
Next week EA will be hosting the annual Animal Assisted Activity course seminar. This course - academically perhaps the most challenging of the EA courses - is often described as 'life changing' by students. I must admit that listening to the presentations of AAA practitioners always reminds me that there is so much goodness and kindness to be found in people--------- and that being with animals can be healing.
Important news! Karen Gray-Kilfoil is making a TV appearance to morrow a 15h45 on SABC3. The subject: Animal Assited Activities. I am not going to miss this! We are so proud of her.
Yes I know that many of you - that is Adv course students are dreading the presentation you have to do. Fear not! Drs Slabbert and Hurly are both kind and supportive - and I will also be there to hold thumbs, very much like a mother!
I am very busy getting everything ready for the seminars. The AAA seminar will be first, followed by the Pretoria Basic courses, then the Pretoria Advanced dog and cats and a bit later the Advanced horses. Then I am off to the lovely CT to present the seminars there! I am so looking forward to meet the students - always the highlight of the year for me!
