LIBES Student Wins Prize in the 25th “Chinese Bridge” Chinese Proficiency Competition

On June 9 and 10, LIBES students Amon Siwale and Steven, accompanied by their Chinese language teacher, Ms. Meng Caiying, participated in the 25th “Chinese Bridge” Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign College Students at the Confucius Institute of the University of Zambia.

The competition consisted of two parts: a written examination held at the Confucius Institute and a talent performance conducted at the Golden Peacock Hotel. Amon Siwale achieved an outstanding result and was awarded Third Prize.

The event received coverage from two major media organizations, China Central Television (CCTV-4) through its program China News, and Xinhua News Agency Overseas Network. This media attention further enhanced the international visibility and influence of both the “Chinese Bridge” brand and the Confucius Institute at the University of Zambia.

The competition inspired greater enthusiasm among Zambian youth for learning Chinese and showcased the unique appeal of cultural exchange between China and Zambia .
