Virginia American School is a new Premier American School opening its doors in 2015 to the children from KG 1 to Grade 12 In the year that H.H.

Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan announced 2015 to be the “Year of Innovation”, Virginia International Private School (VIPS) opened its doors to the children of Abu Dhabi. ization for each and every child and we carefully monitor and respond to their varied needs. Our teachers work collaboratively in a supportive environment to bring discovery and fun to the classroom. We will clarify our learning expectations, monitor individual student progress toward those expectations and provide appropriate supports that ensure positive learning outcomes. Through our commitment to the integration of the arts and music subjects with science, technology engineering and mathematics, we ensure that students become aware of the connectedness of the different disciplines that constitute a school’s curriculum. We do not forget either that a healthy body is as important as a healthy mind and the importance we place on physical activities, nutrition and sport complements the academic activities in which our students participate. Our commitment to the success of all students, means that we recognize the importance of maintaining a safe, supportive and respectful learning environment. We utilize a Responsive Classroom approach as a framework to build positive interpersonal relationships among students and faculty and to develop a collective responsibility for maintaining a positive school culture. VIPS encourages active parent and community participation in our daily activities. Opportunities to volunteer are numerous and vary based on parent interests, availability and classroom needs. Parents are encouraged to join us as guest readers, library support, or presenters during classroom-centered activities. Research and experience tells us that when parents are involved at school, the performance of all the children at school improves.

These assemblies were a wonderful opportunity to highlight not only academic success but also the perseverance, growth, and commitment our students have shown all year long in MOE subjects.

Watching our graduates walk across the stage and receive their diplomas was a reminder of how far they have come.

🌍🏆 VAS at the World Scholar’s Cup 2026 🏆🌍
A total of 21 of our talented students proudly represented Virginia at the World Scholar’s Cup Competition held in Dubai over the period of three days from Saturday, 16th May to Monday, 18th May 2026.
The World Scholar’s Cup is a globally renowned academic tournament that brings together students from around the world to engage in four major events of the competition:✨ Team Debates,✨ Collaborative Writing, ✨ Scholar’s Bowl, ✨and Scholar’s Challenge. Our students performed outstandingly well and bagged a whopping 34 medals.
Throughout the competition, our scholars demonstrated confidence, critical thinking, teamwork, and a true passion for learning beyond the classroom. We are incredibly proud of them.
A very special thank you to Ms. Sangeeta, Ms. Lincy for their dedication, guidance, and unwavering support in preparing the students and Ms. Angela as well as Ms. Roxanne for accompanying students throughout this incredible experience. Your commitment to nurturing our learners truly makes a difference.

VAS Elementary Rocks!

We are incredibly proud to announce that the Virginia American School Elementary secured 🏆 1st Place 🏆 in the Rock the Tables - Aldar Edition (TTRS Competition) amongst 8 participating Aldar schools!

Adding to this amazing achievement, our Grade 4C achieved 1st Place amongst 145 participating classes across the schools in this competition! 🌟

This exciting opportunity encouraged our students to review, practice, and strengthen their multiplication fluency while building confidence and a love for mathematics. Congratulations to our outstanding students, dedicated teachers, and supportive parents for this remarkable success!

This past Friday, our entire Virginia American School community celebrated World Environment Day, launching a meaningful “One Student, One Plant” initiative across our campus.
At VAS, we believe that the environment is everyone’s responsibility and that nature needs to be nurtured. Throughout the day, we were very happy to see our students and staff contributing to VAS’s greener future through various planting activities and the gifting of potted plants and saplings. We will continue to promote environmental stewardship across our school as we build a more sustainable, greener future together - developing a deeper connection with nature and making a positive impact on our school community.
