Wondered what the Fellowship looks like day-to-day?
No two fellows experience it the same way. But Rohita Hashimi, a Year 2 Fellow from Parwan Province, paints a real picture of what showing up every single day for her students actually looks like.

Liza Khuram was a Teach for Afghanistan Fellow in Parwan, Afghanistan. Today she is a teacher and a student in California, USA. She is also someone who still dreams of going back to build schools in Afghanistan one day. Her journey is among many inspiring alumni stories we have had the privilege of sharing.

Stories like Liza's are only possible because people believed in TAO enough to fund a fellowship. There are hundreds of Lizas still in Afghanistan waiting for that same chance. Help us kickstart their leadership journey.

“There was a time when Afghans had one complaint above all others: that the world saw us only as numbers. So many were killed without faces, names, or stories. Today, something even more painful is happening: even the numbers are disappearing.”
Our CEO Rahmatullah Arman wrote about the children who still show up in school in the middle of cross-fire. About what we owe them. About what silence costs. About what it means to keep teaching when the world has stopped watching

What do we do at Teach For Afghanistan?
We find passionate young Afghan graduates. We train them intensively. We place them as teachers and leaders in the schools that need them most. And we stay with them by coaching, supporting, and building a community of leaders that outlasts the fellowship itself. The result is an empowered generation of students and leaders transforming the country from within.

Training to Save Lives
As part of the ongoing educational and awareness-raising programs for students, a first aid training session on “Initial Response to Snakebite” was recently conducted by TAO’s fellow Mr. Farshid Sharifi at Jabal-us-Siraj District.
At TAO, education goes beyond textbooks. Through practical and community-centered learning, students develop the skills, awareness, and sense of responsibility needed to contribute to safer and more resilient communties.
