📚🇦🇴 Strengthening English Language Education in Angola

We are proud to celebrate the successful completion of the Continuous Teacher Training Program in Huambo, implemented under the project Strengthening English Language Education in Angola, held from 25–29 May at Comandante Bula College.

Over five days of learning, collaboration, and professional development, approximately 70 teachers from all municipalities of Huambo Province—representing secondary schools and vocational training institutions—enhanced their pedagogical skills and strengthened their capacity to deliver quality English language instruction.

At US3A, we believe that investing in educators is investing in the future. Every trained teacher has the potential to impact hundreds of students, opening doors to new educational, professional, and global opportunities through English language proficiency.

We are grateful to all participants, facilitators, and partners who contributed to the success of this important initiative. Together, we are helping build a stronger, more connected, and globally competitive generation of young Angolans.

As we celebrate this milestone, we remain energized and committed to the final phase of the project, which will take place in Benguela Province.

🌍 Freedom 250: Alumni Showcase

On the 21st of May at Escola 42 Luanda, the U.S. Embassy, in collaboration with US3A and in partnership with Escola 42 Luanda, hosted the Freedom 250: Alumni Showcase — a powerful gathering of U.S.-Angola exchange alumni from all U.S. Government-funded and sponsored programs, including YALI RLC Southern Africa.

The event brought together inspiring alumni to showcase projects, pitch businesses, exhibit innovations, and share impact stories shaped by their exchange experiences.

Through booths, presentations, and the Alumni Impact Talks Panel — “Legacy to Action: How to Transform Exchange Programs Knowledge into Change?” — participants demonstrated how exchange programs continue to shape leaders, innovators, and changemakers.

On this Africa Day, the U.S.-Angola Alumni Association (US3A) celebrates the strength, resilience, diversity, and limitless potential of Africa and its people. Today, on May 19, the U.S.-Angola Alumni Association (US3A) proudly joins in celebrating the official bilateral relations between Angola and the United States — a partnership built on mutual respect, collaboration, and a shared commitment to progress.

Over the years, the relationship between our two nations has grown stronger through cooperation in education, economic development, health, leadership, entrepreneurship, innovation, and people-to-people exchanges. These connections continue to create opportunities that empower individuals and strengthen communities.
