Our Classroom 1 inquiry learning is currently centered around gardening, exploring the question 'Where does our food come from?'. We know that educating children about sustainability is essential for building lifelong habits and respect for the environment.
This question was brought to life from the children's interests, listening to the child's voice as they played with the felt garden resources and showed great interest in this space.
The Classroom 1 children have enjoyed regular visits to the community garden, planting and caring for the different vegetables we currently have growing in this space. Lead educator Steph, made a sign for our garden, visually displaying what's on offer here using recycled materials.
We love watching their ideas and learning emerge πΏ

As part of our celebration of Nido Day on April 29th to recognise our team and the wonderful work they do everyday, Nido made a commitment to shout anyone a coffee that was mentioned in our post to families or on a google review. We had an astounding number of positive feedback from our lovely community of families from this and decided to one up this commitment and organize a Coffee Van Visit to our whole team this morning to extend our appreciation to all of our educators and teachers.βοΈπΏ

Last Thursday, some of the youngest members of the Nido Taperoo community visited our community garden. They explored walking safely into the community garden space, supported by educators and engaged their senses, exploring different textures. This was one of the first visits out to the garden for the Classroom 1 children. The children thoroughly enjoyed their time here. This will be an ongoing focus to extend on our sustainability goals over the coming months. Watch this space! πΏ
