🌏♻ Today is World Refill Day! ♻🌏
Buying in bulk and using refillable containers is a simple way to reduce unnecessary waste and avoid single-use packaging.
Many stores and supermarkets now let you bring your own containers for deli items and bulk goods, such as rice, pasta, flour, grains, peanut butter, milk and juice. Even takeaway meals can be placed in reusable containers.
Small swaps like these can make a big difference over time.

Join millions around the world taking action on climate change.
Want to make a difference? Here are a couple of simple ways to get started:
✅ Repair instead of replacing - this will help reduce landfill and ensure that fewer raw materials are taken from the earth to manufacture new products.
✅ Food scraps in your FOGO bin - composting your organic material helps improve soil health and reduces harmful greenhouse gas emissions.

⚠️ Gas bottles and butane gas canisters can explode under pressure, making them a safety and fire hazard and don’t belong in any bin.
✅ Both of NAWMA's Resource Recovery Centres accept gas bottles (up to 9kg) for free and safe disposal.
✅ Butane canisters can be dropped off free of charge at the Edinburgh North Resource Recovery Centre.

🚫 Soft plastics are one of the biggest contaminants found incorrectly placed into the kerbside recycling bin.
👎 When these come to our Material Recovery Facility, they get caught in machinery and contaminate the paper and cardboard we are trying to recover and sort for recycling.
✅ Please remember to keep your recyclables loose and free from soft plastic so they can be sorted correctly, and this will prevent resources ending up in landfill.
♻ You can now take your clean and dry soft plastics to your nearest Woolworths store to be recycled into new products such as building materials and food grade packaging.
