💗 Mayfield Oakbank Supports the National Breast Cancer Foundation 💗

Mayfield Oakbank has proudly joined the National Breast Cancer Foundation to help raise funds and support those impacted by breast cancer.

We will be hosting a special fundraiser on Friday, 17 July 2026, in support of people who are close to our hearts within the Mayfield Oakbank staff team and wider community.

More information about the fundraiser will be shared soon, including activities, fundraising opportunities, and ways you can get involved.

🌟 Sensory Play at Our Centre 🌟

Lately, the children have been thoroughly enjoying a variety of sensory play experiences throughout the centre. Sensory play provides wonderful opportunities for children of all ages to explore different textures, colours, sounds, and materials in a hands-on and engaging way.

From squishy and soft materials to rough and crunchy textures, the children have been using their senses to discover, investigate, and learn about the world around them. These experiences encourage curiosity, creativity, problem-solving, and language development, while also supporting fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.

It has been wonderful to see children confidently exploring new sensations, sharing their discoveries with friends, and expressing themselves through play. Sensory experiences also help children develop concentration, self-regulation, and confidence as they interact with different materials at their own pace.

We love watching the excitement on the children's faces as they explore, create, and learn through sensory play, and we look forward to providing many more engaging experiences in the coming weeks! 😊🎨👐✨

📢 Additional Booking Availability

We are excited to let families know that limited bookings have become available from the 20th of July due to children transitioning to school as part of the mid-year intake. 🎉

If you would like to book your child in for an extra day, please contact Mayfield Enrolments or Mayfield Oakbank as soon as possible to secure a spot. Availability is limited, and places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

We have a few exciting centre updates to share with you!

✨ Hayley has stepped into a new position with Mayfield as supporting the current area manager. In this role, she will be supporting other Mayfield-owned services, whilst the current area manager is on leave, which means you may see her around the centre a little less. Don't worry though—Hayley hasn't left and will still be part of our Oakbank family! 💙

👶 Nursery Update
Julie is now our Nursery Room Leader. If you have any questions regarding the Nursery room, Julie is more than capable and happy to assist you.

🌟 Toddler Room Update
Charlotte has moved back into the Toddler room as the Toddler Room Leader. Charlotte has also received a promotion and is now our Educational Leader. In this role, she will be supporting educators across all rooms to ensure high-quality practices are being implemented, supporting children's learning and development, and assisting with policies and procedures.

💼 Assistant Director Update
Many of you know Mikayla (Mickie), who has now stepped into the role of Assistant Director. You will likely see Mickie in the office more often, particularly when Hayley is supporting other centres. Mickie is looking forward to supporting our families and is always happy to answer any questions or assist where needed.

🚓👮‍♂️ Road Safety Visit from SA Police 👮‍♀️🚓

Today we were lucky to welcome a member of the South Australia Police to our centre! They spent time with our Kindy Peers and some of our Toddlers, teaching them about road safety and safe places to play.

The children were highly engaged throughout the session, learning important safety messages in a fun and interactive way. They enjoyed asking questions and sharing their own experiences about staying safe near roads and in their communities.

To finish off the visit, the Kindy Peers were excited to have a closer look at the police car and see the flashing lights in action! 🚔✨ This was definitely a highlight of the day and created lots of excitement among the children.

As part of our Thank a First Responder Day, we would like to take this opportunity to thank all first responders for the important work they do every day to keep our communities safe. We appreciate their dedication, bravery, and commitment to helping others. 💙

A big thank you to SA Police for taking the time to visit our centre and help our children learn valuable road safety skills. 😊🚓👮‍♂️👮‍♀️

This is just a friendly reminder that on Wednesday, 10 June, we will be celebrating and saying thank you to our First Responders. 🚑🚒👮‍♀️👨‍⚕️

Throughout the day, the children will be participating in a variety of activities related to first responders and learning about the important roles they play in our community. ❤️

We would also love to see the children come dressed as their favourite first responder for the day. 🎉

🦎 Meet Toothless! 🦎

Our next team member is Toothless, our much-loved bearded dragon! 💚

Toothless has been part of our Mayfield family since she was just a tiny baby bearded dragon. Over the years, she has become a favourite among the children and families.

She loves waving hello and goodbye to families, receiving gentle pats from her friends, chasing crickets, and enjoying her favourite snacks of carrots, lettuce, and cucumber. 🥕🥬🥒

Toothless is always happy to be part of the children's learning experiences, helping them build confidence around animals, develop caring relationships, and learn about the natural world. 🌿✨

We are so lucky to have Toothless as part of our team! 🦎💚

🐢 Next, meet our turtle, Bingo! 🐢

Bingo has been with us for 4 years now. 💚 He is a Murray River Turtle who enjoys gentle pats 🤲, exploring his environment 🌿, swimming 🏊‍♂️, and being fed his favourite foods 🥬🐟.

Bingo is a much-loved member of our Mayfield Oakbank family, and the children enjoy learning about and caring for him every day. 🌟💚🐢

We would like to thank everyone who came to our Kindy Graduation. 💐 We are extremely proud of all the children and their achievements throughout the year. 🌟
