Meet Our New Stick Insect Friends!

Our Kinder and Toddler 2 children have been busy helping create a wonderful new home for our stick insects! Together, they explored how peat moss expands with water, arranged gum leaves throughout the enclosure, and learned that gum leaves are an important food source for these fascinating creatures.

The children also put their imaginations to work by brainstorming names for our newest residents!

Community Call-Out: If you have access to fresh gum leaves and would like to donate some for our stick insects, please speak with one of our educators.

We can't wait to continue learning, caring, and growing alongside our new friends, with exciting opportunities ahead for families to be involved in their journey.

Nido Early School Pennington is currently on the search for a dedicated and passionate Centre Cook to join our nest.

Our ideal Centre Cook will have experience working in Early Education, Schools or aged care and we are happy for Cooks to start their Early Childhood journey with us.
Founded by the Reggio Emilia philosophy, Nido Early School is focused on stimulating young minds, being part of our local community and creating a collaborative environment, in which each of our team members feel a true sense of belonging.

To celebrate World Ocean Day, the educator with the children in the kinder room explored the Australian oceans and discussed why they are important and how we can help keep them clean and safe. They shared ideas about protecting marine life, reducing rubbish, and caring for our environment.

To extend their learning, children enjoyed an ocean-themed tuff tray experience, using their fine motor skills to scoop, sort, and explore while learning through play. A fun and engaging way to build awareness of ocean conservation and care for our world!

At Nido Pennington, we are proud to celebrate Reconciliation Week through meaningful and engaging experiences that honour Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and perspectives.
