Refugee Week 2026
Celebrating Diversity and Inclusion at Northfield Primary School
This Refugee Week, Northfield Primary School proudly joins communities across South Australia in recognising and celebrating the strength, courage, and contributions of refugees. Refugee Week is an opportunity for us all to learn, listen, and foster understanding, as we acknowledge the journeys people undertake to find safety and build new lives.
At Northfield Primary School, we value diversity and believe everyone deserves a sense of belonging and respect. Our school is enriched by cultures and stories from around the world, including those who have come to Australia as refugees. Together, we can help build a future where all people, regardless of background, feel valued and included.
Happy Refugee Week!

Dear Families,
Following our Walk to School Friday a few weeks ago, I received wonderful feedback from both staff and students about how positive it was to start the day with a wellbeing walk.
As a result, we have decided to make this a regular part of our school week!
Beginning this Friday, and weather permitting, we invite our school community to join us for a wellbeing walk on the school oval every Friday morning from 8:30am to 8:50am.
It's a great opportunity to get some steps in, connect with others, enjoy some fresh air, and start the day in a positive way.
We would love to see you there and look forward to walking together each week.
See you on Friday!
Kind regards,
Natasha Ibrahim

This past week, our school proudly celebrated National Reconciliation Week, a time for all Australians to reflect on our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to consider how we can work together towards a more reconciled future.
As part of our Reconciliation Week learning, every class participated in a whole-school activity focused on the theme of being "All In for Reconciliation." Students explored what reconciliation means and shared ideas about how they can contribute to building respectful relationships, fostering understanding, and creating a more inclusive community for everyone.
It was wonderful to see students engaging in meaningful conversations and demonstrating their commitment to kindness, respect, and unity. Together, we are learning that reconciliation is everyone's responsibility, and that even small actions can make a big difference.
❤️💛🖤 We are proud to be All In for Reconciliation. ❤️💛🖤
