Yesterday, our toddler and preschool children had the opportunity to take part in a sustainability incursion, ran by Cam O'Malley who runs the AWARE (Australian Waste and Recycling Education) Program!

They listened to Cam talk about recycling and how different materials are processed.

The highlight was a hands-on activity where the children sorted items into the correct bins, building on their understanding of recycling. They especially loved placing food scraps into our sustainable waste bins!

A fantastic learning experience about caring for our environment! Thanks Cam! 🌱

To help you learn more, we’re hosting a Preschool Information Session on Wednesday, 29 July.

Our 2-5 year olds have been busy growing their very own vegetable garden! From planting seeds, to watching them grow, the children are learning all about the journey from seed to plate, and even enjoying the vegetables as part of their meals at the centre!🥕

The cooler weather has been perfect for transplanting our snow peas into the garden. The children worked together to plant them, collect water, and take turns caring for their garden.

Gardening offers opportunities for hands-on learning, teamwork, and connection to nature. We are so proud of our little gardeners and can’t wait to see what they grow next! 🌿

Our centre is beautifully located in the foothills, surrounded by nature. This week, we’ve been treated to golden autumn leaves, fresh air, and some fun outdoor play!🍂🌿

Our natural environment encourages children to explore, imagine, and connect with the world around them. Whether it’s crunching through leaves, splashing in puddles, or simply soaking up some sun, outdoor play brings so much joy to the children's day!

Time spent outside supports wellbeing, curiosity, and a love for nature🍁

Did you know there is a free program available for families with babies aged 6–18 months who may be showing early differences in communication or social interaction?

Inklings is a research-backed program that helps parents and caregivers better understand and respond to their baby’s unique way of communicating. Families receive up to 10 free sessions with a trained practitioner, tailored to their child and family.

Families who have participated in Inklings say the program helped them feel more confident, connected and supported in their parenting journey.

The program is available across metropolitan and regional South Australia and can be accessed through health services, children’s centres, at home or via telehealth.
