🌍 📢 And.......our next presenter is Dr Elvie Tamata from Vanuatu. This conversation will give listeners and viewers a glimpse into the education system where students are mostly trilingual. There are over 100 languages spoken in the country; a country with a population of around 300,000 people. Education systems are multi faceted and it is an example of creating a culturally responsive curriculum for all students. Deakin University

Elvie spent seven years working as a secondary school teacher. After studying at The University of South Pacific she embarked on establishing the in-service teacher unit at the Teachers College in Vanuatu.

She has successfully completed her doctorate from Deakin University and is passionate about conducting research which is contextual to Vanuatu. She seeks to build a research culture in her country which is conducted by her own people. Elvie is an advocate for the success of women in often male-dominated environments and is determined to show that girls can achieve anything they set their minds to.
