🌿🏕️ Our own bush kindy at Parafield Gardens Children’s Centre 🌳✨
Our amazing front outdoor environment was buzzing with excitement as the children immersed themselves in nature play and adventure. Filled with natural spaces and endless opportunities for discovery, the area became a hub of creativity, exploration, and imaginative play.
We were delighted to welcome Glenn from Mobile junk and nature playground, who spent time alongside the children, introducing a range of exciting outdoor resources including barrels, water play structures, sticks, tents, and loose parts to add to our wonderful nature area. With Glenn and our educators supporting and encouraging children’s ideas, they eagerly transformed the space into their own world of exploration and discovery. The children built, balanced, investigated, and experimented as they engaged with the natural environment. Their curiosity led them to create imaginative structures, explore how different materials worked together, and discover new ways to interact with the landscape around them. Their interest in living things came alive as they explored the landscape.

🥦🌱 A Wonderful Gardening Day with Rebecca from Greenhill Living! 🥕🐛
Rebecca from Greenhill Living came to the centre for her termly visit with the children and staff. It was an exciting time where she led the children in harvesting their products from last term (bok choy, carrots and beetroot) and planting broccoli, cauliflower, lettuce and beans. The children were very excited about this whole event and showed a strong interest in the living things in the garden.
Rebecca replenished our worm farm with the children and discussed with them the benefits of worms in our environment and what they can feed them. She also read a book the Broccoli and the Caterpillar and talked about the caterpillars in the garden.

⚽️🦘📚 National Simultaneous Story Time is an important event for Parafield Gardens Children’s. It is an opportunity to promote literacy, imagination and building connections through the joy of shared reading. ❤️📖

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦🌟 The event last week was celebrated with families at the centre. Parents spent time connecting with their children, through opportunities to read various stories and information books to their children, engage in other learning experiences with children and there was a morning tea and some fun games for the children. It was Reconciliation Week so there was a Reconciliation theme across the learning environment. 🤝🖤💛❤️

🎉📚 It was great to have John Fulbrook our local MP with us to read the story Luna Roo which was read across Australia at the same. He also shared with children his role to support children’s learning about community. 🏡✨

📖💡 Jenny Fox the director also shared with parents the value of reading to children highlighting the long term positive effects of regularly reading to children in supporting literacy and language development and a love of books. ❤️📚

🔄📚 Families were also reminded about our book swap program enabling them to enjoy borrowing a range of different books for their children. 😊📖
