The children across the centre have had a vibrant week filled with curiosity, creativity and connection. They strengthened their social skills through sharing, turn‑taking and communicating with friends, while hands‑on science exploration sparked excitement as they experimented with volcanoes, ramps and speed. Their imaginations flourished through storytelling and creative expression and art, building confidence as they shared ideas and created together. These rich experiences supported key Early Years Learning Framework outcomes, helping children grow as communicators, collaborators and curious learners.

The toddlers outdoor play was full of colour sorting, shape matching and lots of excited little voices. The children explored, predicted, problem‑solved and worked together while building fine‑motor and language skills. A bright and joyful learning moment. 🌈✨

The children in the Nursery had a great time during indoor free play, working together to build a tall tower with blocks. Their focus, teamwork, and problem‑solving skills really shone as more friends joined in and helped keep the structure standing.

When the tower eventually tumbled, they showed resilience and excitement by rebuilding it again. Such moments highlight their growing cooperation, communication, and confidence during group play.

Did you know there is a free program available for families with babies aged 6–18 months who may be showing early differences in communication or social interaction?

Inklings is a research-backed program that helps parents and caregivers better understand and respond to their baby’s unique way of communicating. Families receive up to 10 free sessions with a trained practitioner, tailored to their child and family.

Families who have participated in Inklings say the program helped them feel more confident, connected and supported in their parenting journey.

The program is available across metropolitan and regional South Australia and can be accessed through health services, children’s centres, at home or via telehealth.

🌟📚 National Simultaneous Storytime Fun! 🦘⚽

On Wednesday, the children from Preschool 1 & 2 excitedly gathered outdoors to take part in Australia’s National Simultaneous Storytime! 🇦🇺✨
Rajena shared with the children that kids and educators all across the country were reading the very same story at the exact same time — Luna Roo the Kangaroo Baller by Adam Wallace and Adrian Beck, illustrated by Jake A. Minton. 📖💛
The children were full of excitement and curiosity as they joined together, listened attentively, and enjoyed being part of this special nationwide reading experience.
🦘⚽ Luna Roo the Kangaroo Baller is a fun and inspiring story about teamwork, confidence, and believing in yourself — reminding us all that even underdogs can shine! 🌈✨

Celebrating Country Through Art 🎨🌿
This week, during Reconciliation Week, the children explored creativity, culture, and connection to Country. After reading Finding Our Heart, they painted on bark using colour and texture to express their ideas and explored a Kaurna Land map to deepen their understanding of place, belonging, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives. Through shared discussions and artistic expression, the children developed respect for culture, communication skills, and meaningful connections to Country. ❤️🖤💛

Yesterday, we delivered the generous donations from our families and staff to Backpack 4 SA Kids. The team were incredibly grateful for the amazing support from our community.
During our visit, Glenn shared how staff and volunteers carefully sort and pack backpacks for children entering care, young people transitioning out of foster care, and families rebuilding their lives after homelessness or domestic violence.
Although the warehouse looked full, we were surprised to learn it would need to be completely replenished within just two months due to the high demand for their services.
It was inspiring to see the important work this charity does to bring comfort and dignity to children and families during difficult times. Thank you to everyone who donated so generously — your kindness truly makes a difference. 💙

What a joyful morning in Preschool 1. Cristina brought in her ukulele and the children were instantly captivated. Their eyes lit up as she introduced the instrument, and soon everyone wanted a turn to gently strum it. Together they sang many favourite songs, including the Nina Marni song, filling the room with music and connection.

Through these shared moments, the children are strengthening their emotional regulation as they sing alongside their educators. They’re also expanding their vocabulary and learning more about musical instruments in such a fun, meaningful way.
