Year 1 had a terrific incursion experiencing Kaurna Cultural practices with ‘Walking Together with Kaurna’. They learned about the karra tree (river red gum) and all it provides such as tools, artefacts, and food.
Students got to touch real animal skins, real Kaurna tools (carefully!) and they even got to learn some Kaurna language. Students were delighted to conclude the incursion with a very fun game of ‘Hunt the Emu’.

Did you know perfectly good apples get rejected just for being the "wrong" size or shape?
Our Year 8 & 10 Food Tech students found out firsthand at Lenswood Apple Farm — picking fruit, tasting fresh-pressed juice, and learning what it really takes to bring food from farm to table.

Year 7 meets Reception!
Our senior students are conducting action research: interviewing Reception students, taking hand measurements, and using that data to design and 3D print custom finger pointer reading tools — delivered back to the kids by end of term.
Real research. Real design. Real impact.

As part of our unit on household staples, the year 8 Food Tech class baked their very own bread for the first time. The experience was eye opening, and the students were amazed with what you could make with very little ingredients lurking in your pantry.

Recognising our students who lead by example. These junior school stars showed what exemplary behaviour looks like—and inspired us all.
May Allah increase them in excellence and grant them wisdom, character, and compassion. Allahumma ameen.

What a day. What a community. What a Eid Carnival!
Alhamdulillah — the Iqra College Eid Carnival 2026 was everything we hoped for and more. Seeing our families, our friends, and the wider community come together like this — this is exactly why we do it.
Four years running. And this was the biggest one yet.
JazakAllah khair to every single person who came, celebrated, and made this day what it was. You are the heart of this community.
Until next year inshallah. Eid Mubarak.
