For ANZAC day, with love and remembrance

Today I feel into all the people who fought for our country, who fought for our freedoms, for our rights, for our serenity.

I feel into the men and the women. The ones on the front line, and the ones behind the scenes. The medics, the nurses, the cooks, the engineers, the ones who wrote letters home by candlelight. Every role mattered. Every heart mattered.

And I feel into the animals too — the horses who carried soldiers through mud and fear, steady and loyal to the end. The dogs who sniffed out danger, who comforted, who guarded, who gave their lives without question. We remember your service too.

And let’s not forget the ones who waited. With patience that must have felt endless. The mothers, fathers, partners, children, friends — hearts stretched across oceans, holding hope in their hands. Writing letters, praying, keeping the home fires burning. Waiting for their loved ones to return.

And today, we send out deep, deep love to the ones who did not return. We feel your absence. We honor your courage. We say your names in our hearts. You gave everything so we could have this moment, this breath, this freedom. We pay our respects to you.

Let’s commemorate this day with an open and balanced heart. Not with glorification of war, but with reverence for sacrifice, and with a commitment to peace.

I am proud to be Australian. I stand beside our New Zealand whānau too — Anzac means us, together. We remember the ANZACs who landed at Gallipoli at dawn, and every serviceman and woman since.

Today I practice gratitude for what we have. For the freedoms we wake up to. For the right to speak, to gather, to live in safety. To raise our kids under open skies. We will never take it for granted.

Lest we forget.
We will remember them.
We will live worthy of them.

Hot Tips:
1. Listen to natural sounds each morning (birds, water, wind). Birdsong is so potent
2. Place a crystal or stone on your heart and meditate for 5 min. What do you feel or see?
3. Take a mindful walk in nature, noticing sounds, landscape, textures and scents. What is Gaia whispering to you?
