On Saturday, 13 June, we were incredibly proud of our students, Abigail, Amy, and Sebastian, who participated as finalists in the Chinese Bridge Competition and were awarded third prize.
The “Chinese Bridge” (汉语桥Hanyu Qiao) is a prestigious international Chinese language and cultural proficiency competition sponsored by the Chinese government for non-native speakers.
Throughout the competition, our students showcased confidence in speaking Chinese. Amy presented beautiful Chinese calligraphy, Sebastian delivered an energetic drumming performance, and Abigail impressed the audience with a vibrant lion dance.
It was a valuable experience that allowed students to build confidence, embrace challenges, and share their Chinese language skills and cultural understanding.
We are very proud of their effort, courage, and growth, and thank our families for their continued support.

As we prepare to farewell our much-loved Deputy Principal, Deb Dalwood, after an extraordinary career in education, we are delighted to celebrate a truly remarkable achievement.
Last week in Perth, Deb was awarded Honorary National Life Membership of IPSHA (Independent Primary School Heads of Australia), the Association’s highest honour.
This prestigious recognition is reserved for educational leaders who have demonstrated outstanding and sustained service of the highest calibre, making significant contributions at both state and national levels over many years.
For those who have had the privilege of working alongside Deb, this honour will come as no surprise. Throughout her career, she has been a passionate advocate for students, a trusted mentor to colleagues, and a highly respected leader within the South Australian education community. Her wisdom, integrity and unwavering commitment to excellence have influenced countless young people, educators and schools.
As Deb’s retirement approaches in just over two weeks, we are thrilled to see her exceptional contribution to education recognised on the national stage. It is a fitting tribute to a career defined by service, leadership and impact.
Congratulations, Deb. This recognition is richly deserved, and we could not be more proud 💙

Halfway there, Class of 2026💙
A cold, wet June evening in Adelaide couldn't dampen the spirit of our Year 12s as they gathered with their families and teachers to celebrate the halfway point of their final year at school.
With Wyatt Hall transformed into a cosy, lounge-style setting, students enjoyed a fun-filled evening complete with a photo booth, caricature artist, donut truck and plenty of laughter.
While the activities were a highlight, it was the chance to come together and reflect on the journey so far that made the evening truly special. The Year 12 Halfway Celebration is one of those moments that reminds us that Year 12 is not just about exams and results, but about growth, resilience, friendships and the community that supports our students along the way.
To our Class of 2026, we're so proud of everything you've achieved so far and can't wait to see what the second half of your final year brings.

Pulteney proudly joined SAAS, IGSSA and School Sport SA in recognising National Reconciliation Week 2026 through a meaningful display of support across our sporting community.
This year’s theme, "All In," is a reminder that reconciliation is everyone’s responsibility.
Sport has a special way of bringing people together. Whether on the field, on the sidelines, being “All In” means showing respect, listening, learning and standing together.
A big thank you to our Grounds Team, Sports Department, coaches and players who came together to support this important initiative.

Founded in 1847, Pulteney Grammar School has a rich history shaped by generations of students, staff, families and Old Scholars.
At this year's Founders' Day Assembly on 29 May, we were proud to introduce the inaugural Navy Blue Oration, a new tradition celebrating leadership, service and the lifelong impact of a Pulteney education.
The first Navy Blue Orator was Old Scholar Lucy Sara (Class of 2016), whose inspiring journey from School Captain to Officer in the Royal Australian Navy reflects the values of courage, service and leadership that continue to define our community. Lucy shared reflections on connection, belonging and the opportunities that have shaped her path since graduating from Pulteney, encouraging current students to embrace the many possibilities that lie ahead.
Thank you, Lucy, for helping launch what promises to become a valued Founders' Day tradition and for demonstrating what it means to be Navy Blue.

Pulteney’s Bush Kindy/Yartangka program has become one of the most treasured parts of life in our Early Learning Centre. Through fortnightly sessions in Blue Gum Park / Kurangga, South Parklands, children are learning on Kaurna Country.
From spotting Rain moths and birdlife to listening to cultural stories and learning about native plants, Yartangka encourages children to connect, explore and play in the natural world.
As Deputy Principal Deb Dalwood shared, “Having the parklands on our doorstep is incredibly special. It gives children a unique experience to explore both the city and the outdoors.”
We are proud to see Yartangka continue to grow across the School community, helping children slow down, explore, and enjoy nature. 🍃🍃🍃
