Next time you launch at O’Sullivan Beach, take a moment to check the new information and safety signage at the ramp.

The signage brings together key information to help make sure you're prepared before heading out, including local safety advice and reminders about staying safe out on the water.

The signs are already in place at West Beach and North Haven boat ramps and more sites will follow soon.

Take a look next time you’re at the ramp!

When was the last time you serviced your inflatable lifejacket?

Regular servicing helps make sure your lifejacket will work when you need it most.

As a guide:
☑️ Every year - complete a self-service check or visit one of our Stay Afloat clinics
☑️ Every 3 years - have it professionally serviced by an accredited provider

When checking your lifejacket, inspect the cover, CO2 cylinder, auto-inflate cartridge (if fitted) and pull cord.

A quick check now could make all the difference on the water.

It’s been a busy summer boating season!

Our Marine Safety Officers have been out across South Australian waters helping boaters stay safe.

Since 1 October, we checked 1,855 vessels at boat ramps and out on the water, working with the boating community to improve safety and reduce risks.
While most boaters were well prepared, 36% of vessels checked had at least one compliance issue.

The most common issues included:
🦺 lifejackets not being worn or carried
📋 unregistered vessels
⚠️ missing safety equipment
🚨 expired or missing flares
🌊 speeding

Before your next trip, take a few minutes to check your lifejackets, safety gear, registration and safety equipment.

A little preparation goes a long way to keeping everyone safe on the water.
