Year 6 leadership fit check โ๏ธ
Our senior students have proudly stepped into their leadership era in their new-look leadership jumpers and polos ๐โจ
Recognisable in the yard and worn with pride, these uniforms are a special reminder of their role in leading by example, supporting others and representing our school community ๐

St Joseph's School Hectorville
Welcome to St Joseph's School Hectorville. Catholic co-education from Preschool to Year 6.
Learning through curiosity, connection & discovery ๐บโจ
In Year 1, Ms Laura Cherry guided students through an Artefacts lesson that invited them to observe closely, ask questions and uncover stories from the past ๐๐ญ
For Ms Cherry, learning is most meaningful when students are actively involved. By encouraging curiosity, discussion and thoughtful questioning, she helps students build understanding in a hands-on and engaging way ๐ง
A beautiful glimpse into the purposeful learning taking place in Ms Cherryโs classroom, where curiosity leads the way and every discovery helps students grow ๐ป
Flashback Friday! ๐๐
Today, as students attend Mass for the Sacred Heart of Jesus, we reflect on another special celebration in our faith community, St Josephโs Day.
As a school community, we came together to honour our patron saint through Mass and formally acknowledge our Year 6 Student Leaders for 2026.
Now almost halfway through their final year of primary school, our Year 6 students continue to embrace their role as leaders by role modelling positive behaviour, supporting peers and taking on specialist leadership roles across the school.
Wearing their new-look leadership jumpers and polos, along with their blessed badges, our student leaders are easily recognisable and carry their role with pride ๐โจ
Thank you to our Leadership Team, APRIM Mrs Mary Armstrong, Fr Francis, our altar servers, liturgical dancers and for marking this special occasion with us ๐
Our teachers are so much more than just teachers ๐ฅฐโ
โ
From early morning classroom setup to end of day pack up, our teachers give so much of themselves to create spaces where students feel seen, heard, safe and ready to learn.โ
โ
Throughout the day, they become encouragers, listeners, problem solvers, role models and trusted supports, helping each child feel known and valued in their care ๐คโ
โ
Ms Tayla Luppinoโs Year 1 students experience this firsthand, and we are so thankful for all of our incredible teachers who bring patience, care and heart into their classrooms each and every day ๐ซ๐โ

Opening Anticipation | Part 3 โจ
Tomorrow is an exciting day for our remaining Year 1 classes, as they step into their new classroom and learning hub for the very first time ๐ซโจ
This beautiful new precinct includes contemporary learning spaces, dedicated outdoor areas, green space and nature play, creating an environment designed to support curiosity, connection and growth ๐ฟ
After months of planning, building and anticipation, we are incredibly excited to see our students begin learning in this space and make it their own.
We hope you have enjoyed the long weekend and look forward to welcoming everyone back tomorrow! ๐
Opening Anticipation | Part 2 ft. Kurt the Builder ๐ทโโ๏ธ
With the opening just around the corner, our Year 6 Promotions Leaders were excited to meet Kurt from Partek and lead a special interview as they took a behind-the-scenes look at the final stages of our new Junior Primary Precinct.
It is safe to say they had a bit of fun along the way, asking plenty of essential questions and a few not-so-essential ones too!
While this project can be seen as a physical building, it has always been about so much more. It is about creating spaces where our youngest students feel inspired, supported and ready to learn.
We would like to thank our builders, Kurt and Dan, the wider Partek team and our architects, DesignInc, for working alongside the school to bring this exciting vision to life ๐ฆ๐๏ธ
Can he build it? Yes, he can! ๐จ
Opening Anticipation | Part 1 โจ
Our Year 6 Promotions Leaders were given a very special sneak peek inside our new Junior Primary Precinct ahead of its opening next week.
Hard hats on, vests zipped and excitement levels high, they went behind the scenes to see the progress up close and help share a first look with our SJH community ๐ทโโ๏ธ๐ฆบ
We cannot wait for the rest of our Year 1 classes to move in!
A teacher through the eyes of her students ๐
In Reception, Ms Giulia Silvestri creates a classroom where students feel known, supported and encouraged as they take their first steps into school learning.
Through the voices of her students, we see the care, patience and connection that sit at the heart of her teaching. Ms Silvestriโs approach helps young learners build confidence, develop curiosity and feel safe to have a go! ๐
These early years are shaped by the relationships students form, and this video offers a beautiful insight into the impact a thoughtful and nurturing teacher can have on each childโs growth.
A little Friday fun with Ms Felice Panos & her Year 4 class! ๐
What happens when a St Josephโs Expressive Arts teacher and dance enthusiast moves into the classroom? She brings her energy, creativity and sense of fun with her! ๐ชฉโจ
As a proud old scholar, Ms Panos knows herself that learning is built on connection. Her warm, enthusiastic approach helps students feel confident, engaged and ready to give things a go, whether they are exploring new ideas in the classroom or joining in on a viral social media dance together.
A beautiful glimpse into the positive relationships, laughter and sense of community that help our students shine ๐
Sunday smiles ๐ฅฐ
Our and mother figures joined us for a beautiful morning of coffee, breakfast nibbles and conversation with our Leadership, followed by special classroom liturgies across the school.
Together with their children, they shared meaningful moments of prayer, songs and personal poems, celebrating the love, care and gratitude they bring to our community.
A small but heartfelt gesture of appreciation from our students, and from all of us ๐
