This week, our student leaders organised a park clean-up with the ELC students. The intent was to take care of our local environment โ Bethel enjoys the use of Worra Park each day as a play space, and we want to ensure it can stay lovely for our students and the wider Yakamia community!
Once they'd cleaned up the park, they were so keen they continued into the school to clean up our own play spaces too! Well done, ELC students and Student Leaders!

Our Year 7 students have worked with our Year 3/4 class to combine their efforts in organising a whole-school Foodbank Drive for Impact Day.
Boxes for donations and posters raising awareness can be found around the school. We've already collected so many items - what an impressive effort, Bethel!
You still have a week to contribute if you'd like to. Simply send your donated items in with your child to pop in a box at school by Friday.

Bethel has several fundraising and missional projects currently underway! Through Student Development, Devotion and Leadership times, our students have been inspired to love others well through servant leadership.
There are many ways to get involved as a family - choose the cause your child is passionate about or connected to. More details will be coming your way via email, flyers and Facebook.
Today we're spotlighting our Student Leadership Social Justice Team, who are collecting donations for the Albany Women's Refuge. See the image below for details!

In our Year 7 Sport and Recreation Elective, the Year 7s have been braving the cold and drizzle to try their hand at reel fishing. Patience, resilience, and determination are all built in the waiting for a big catch. Some weeks have been exciting with all kids reeling in a catch, while others have brought just nibbles โ nevertheless, the students embrace the experience for everything it brings! ๐ฃ

Today our Year 7 cooking elective students wrapped up their unit of work with a showcase of student-led recipe selections, presented to a panel of judges (Mr Stanway, Mrs Widdison and Mrs Paterson). The ideas were varied, well thought out and, of course, delicious! Congratulations to all teams on your amazing work under competitive pressure! ๐ฝ๏ธ๐จโ๐ณ

๐งตโจ The Year 7 and 8 Enrichment class has been exploring the world of fashion design and textiles! Students have been sketching their own designs, experimenting with recycled fabrics to create upcycled projects, and developing new skills on the sewing machines.
Enrichment is all about fostering creativity, problem-solving, student-led learning and real-world application. It provides opportunities for students to pursue their interests, take on challenges, and bring their ideas to life in practical ways.
This class has quickly become a highlight of the week for many students, and we continue to be impressed by their enthusiasm, engagement and willingness to have a go. We can't wait to see their finished creations! โจ๐ชกโป๏ธ

Well done to all our amazing runners! You showed perseverance, joy and resilience today despite the rainy conditions. We are so proud of the way students encouraged one another and gave their best right to the finish line.
A huge shout out to all our parents who braved the rain to cheer the students on, and to our PE staff for all their hard work in making the event possible.
