A fantastic day at the track 🏅

Recently, our students headed to the Runaway Bay Sports Super Centre for the 2026 Aquinas Athletics Carnival.

From sprint races and field events to novelty activities and the much-anticipated AQ Gift, the day was filled with energy, determination and plenty of House spirit. Students embraced every challenge, cheered one another on and gave their all throughout the competition.

With records broken, strong performances across the board and an electric atmosphere from start to finish, it was a wonderful celebration of participation, teamwork and community.

Well done to all students and staff who made the day such a success!

BCE Excellence Awards 🌟

The BCE Excellence Awards are a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the achievements, innovation and dedication of staff across Brisbane Catholic Education schools and offices.

We’re proud to share that Nicole White has been nominated and is a finalist for the Excellence in Strengthening Catholic Identity Award (sponsored by the Australian Catholic University).

This nomination recognises the important and meaningful work being done to strengthen Catholic identity within our Aquinas College community each day.

Spill the Tea — AQ Ladies Afternoon Tea: Bubbles & Banter ✨

Last week, our Aquinas College and Star of the Sea community came together for a beautiful afternoon celebrating connection, friendship and shared stories across generations.

It was especially meaningful to welcome guests from the Class of 1975, a wonderful reminder of the lifelong bonds formed through our College community.

The afternoon was filled with laughter, music and celebration, as past and present women of Aquinas reconnected and reflected on cherished memories while creating new ones.

A heartfelt thank you to our guest speaker Dr Robyn Cameron, along with entertainment from Annabel Clough, DJ Arthur Henry, and staff who added some special moments to the day.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for such a memorable celebration.

Calling Aquinas alumni celebrating a milestone reunion year 🎉

We extend a special welcome to the Classes of 2016, 2006, 1996, 1986 and 1976 as they come together to celebrate their decade reunions alongside the wider Aquinas community.

The Spring Fling – A Day at the Races and Reunion is the perfect opportunity to reconnect with classmates, reminisce on your Aquinas memories and celebrate the lifelong friendships formed along the way.

Clean Up Australia Day 🌿 🌏

Earlier this year, our AQ Social Justice Group proudly participated in National Clean Up Australia Day, taking meaningful action to care for our environment and local community.

Led by Sustainability Prefect Lucy, 21 students from Years 7 to 12 walked from The Spit to Main Beach, collecting rubbish along the coastline and waterways to help protect our beautiful Gold Coast beaches.

By the end of the day, students had filled a wagon and countless bags with litter, removing everything from bottle tops to larger discarded items, including a bike wheel.

We are incredibly proud of the compassion, teamwork and leadership shown by these students as they demonstrated a hands-on commitment to caring for our planet and serving the community.
