What a lovely moment at Balcatta SHS this Wednesday! A group of Year 8 students ran a sausage sizzle at lunch as a gesture of appreciation for some of their teachers. π
It was a great example of the connections our students and staff build every day, and a reminder of how much a simple act of showing up can mean.

Year 11 Dinner Dance!
Our Year 11 students had a wonderful night to remember last Thursday 11 June, celebrating at the Dinner Dance held at the stunning Beaumonde on the Point in East Perth.
Students enjoyed a fantastic evening of dinner, dancing and great company, with a DJ and photo booth adding to the festivities. It was a special occasion and a well-deserved celebration for our Year 11 cohort.
A big thank you to everyone involved in organising the event and to our students for representing Balcatta SHS with great spirit on the night.

ECU visits Balcatta SHS π
Last week our Year 11 and 12 ATAR students enjoyed a presentation from Edith Cowan University, covering university pathways, the application process and what life as a uni student is really like.
It was a great opportunity for our senior students to learn more about their options beyond school and get answers to their questions as they start thinking about the next step.
Thank you to Edith Cowan University (ECU) for taking the time to visit our students!

Improvisation with Barking Gecko Arts π
A selection of our Year 7 and 8 students took part in a fantastic drama workshop yesterday, run by members of Barking Gecko Arts in our Performing Arts Theatre.
Students engaged in four hours of improvisation activities, with some hilarious and surprising results! The workshop gave our young performers the chance to explore improvisation and develop their drama skills while working alongside a professional theatre company.
With almost 40 students taking part, it was a big day, and our students worked incredibly hard.
