Recently, EC5 has loved exploring our Vet/Pets theme. Students have been developing their oral language skills in our vet home corner and enjoyed sharing photos of their pets from home. They also worked hard to create their dog and cat artworks, carefully cutting and assembling each piece.
In Numeracy, we have been investigating capacity through hands on exploration with sand, rice and water. Students compared different containers, made predictions and explored concepts such as full, half and empty.
In Literacy, students have been enthusiastically learning new sounds and are excited to watch our sound wall grow each week. Our focus sounds this week are 'j' and 'y'.
Keep up the great work EC5!
The EC5 Team 😊

Keeping our students safe online is a shared responsibility between families and schools.

We encourage parents and carers to take a few moments to watch the attached video of Imogen Johnson from Serpentine Primary School. Imogen delivered a powerful speech at the Parliament House State Finals, sharing important insights into the impact social media can have on young people's wellbeing, relationships and development.
Her message is thoughtful, courageous and well worth listening to.
At Tuart Rise Primary School, we continue to see an increase in school-based issues that originate from online interactions outside of school hours, including cyberbullying, friendship conflicts, threats of violence, and discussions involving self-harm especially on SNAPChat messaging, audio group calls.

The attached poster supports ongoing conversations about Australian online safety legislation and the importance of helping children make safe choices online.

Together, we can support every child's rights:
• Right to Feel Safe
• Right to Learn
• Right to Teach
Families and schools working together helps keep our students safe, supported and ready to learn
