The Australian training centre for Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) training courses

23/06/2026

We are delighted to welcome three international AMI trainers to SMTC this August to share their experience in three deep-dive live online workshops as part of our Reconnect Series. The August sessions cover the 0-3, 3-6 and 12-18 age-levels.

Each workshop runs for 4 hours across two linked 2-hour sessions, giving you time between sessions to trial and implement strategies.

Primarily designed to support educators to reconnect with important aspects of their practice, these sessions are a deep dive into challenging areas to help you and your classroom.

Group discounts are available for schools or centres booking multiple staff members across the entire Reconnect Workshop Series.

On all of our AMI Diploma courses we spend some time making materials. In this day and age when so many things can be purchased, why would we do this? Principally this enables us to consider and analyse deeply how each aspect of a material supports the child’s development and to create something that really meets their needs. This understanding stays with us each time we consider a new material or item for our environments.

Here the Sydney AMI 3-6 Diploma students are making aprons for 3-6 children, guided by a wonderful family member of one of the students, sharing her knowledge - thank you!

Our material making crew were hard at work today at the Balmain training centre. Thank you! Whilst we work, we chat, catch up, share morning tea and enjoy an all round great time.

If you would like to join us, our next session is Tuesday 23 June 10am to 1.30pm followed by Wednesday 19 August , Thursday 17 September, Friday 23 October and Thursday 19 November at the same time and place.

You don’t have to be a sewer, good at cutting or even good with a pen. We can find a job for everyone.

Do let us know if you plan to come so we can keep you updated.

Amy recently had the opportunity to visit Montessori Early Learning to provide mentoring and professional development for their staff team. Thanks to Bilingual Montessori Early Learning for preparing this video of the day. Ongoing reflection, guidance and support are essential to continuing to develop our practice and keep it deeply grounded in Montessori pedagogy. We are here to support - would a trainer visit or professional development session help your team? ([email protected]).
