GRANDPARENTS AND FRIENDS MORNING / Our Lower Primary students were all rainbows and smiles this morning, welcoming their grandparents and friends to a very special Assembly.
There were string performances, poems recited, beautiful words and photos shared, songs sung and a special performance from our Lower Primary Musical Theatre group.
After the Assembly, Grandparents and guests had the opportunity to visit classrooms.
What a wonderful way to conclude Term 2!

K-YEAR 2 ATHLETICS CARNIVAL / The conditions at the Epping Athletics Track were perfect today for our K-2 Athletics Carnival. The sun was shining, a light breeze was blowing and our students ran, jumped, threw, passed, kicked, and tossed in a round robin of athletic ‘events’.

The students had lots of fun, showed courage and conviction and listened very carefully to the instructions from the Year 10 PASS students who capably explained, praised and gave high-5s at each activity. Thank you to the parents who were able to attend and encourage and to the students and staff who managed and supervised the day.

SECONDARY ATHLETICS CARNIVAL / Another wonderful day at our annual Secondary Athletics Carnival, held at Sydney Olympic Park earlier this week. Our students brought their courageous spirit, competing in various track and field events to earn valuable points for their Houses.
Well done to all who took part!

IMPROVISING WITH COURAGE / Through creativity, collaboration and plenty of laughter, our Intermediate and Senior Theatresports™ teams represented Arden with distinction at the Impro Australia Schools Challenge heats and semi-finals recently.

Performing entirely without scripts, students demonstrated quick thinking, adaptability and the courage to step confidently into the unknown. Both teams embodied the true spirit of improvisation through teamwork, positivity and a willingness to say "yes" to every challenge. We are incredibly proud of the way they represented Arden both on and off the stage, led by their coaches and Arden Alumni Lachlan Atkins and Sam Bargwanna (Class of 2021).

MUSICA VIVA / Wyniss, a Torres Strait Islander music group, wowed students from Pre-School to Year 6 with their music and dance play. Our students learnt that while childhood games may just seem like fun, they are also an important record of history. From spinning tops to string figures, culture and history are passed on through singing, dancing and games.

CAREERS DAY / Last Friday, Year 10 students had the opportunity to connect with their future goals and careers as they participated in to my Future Day.
Students participated in three workshops in the morning. Galmatic facilitated a car maintenance workshop, Kathryn from Turning Point Consulting Pty Ltd provided invaluable tips for creating a resume and Talk Money advised students about their rights in the workplace. After lunch 15 of our Alumni shared their career journey so far as part of the Living Library of Career Stories.
This day is invaluable for our students as they prepare for Stage 6 and life beyond school.

HIRE A HERO AUCTION / It was that time of year again, when our Prefect heroes were generously "sold" to the highest bidding syndicate of students for the annual Secondary Campus Hire a Hero Day. The auction brought in a record $6180 in just under 40 minutes, for Bear Cottage Superhero Week.
Held in Week 10, Hire a Hero Day will see our Prefect heroes (and teacher) attending classes with the student syndicates who generously hired them; providing assistance and approved heroics as required.

What fun it was to witness the passion, spirit and healthy competition the students brought to the auction today! We cannot wait to see all the action on the day.

YEAR 9 COMMERCE / This year's selected ‘sharks’ were ready and circling our Year 9 Commerce students presenting their business concepts in Arden’s version of Shark Tank.

Student groups must establish and develop a proposal for a company/product to sell at a stall at our Secondary Campus Market Day, held in Term 3.
The business pitches had to outline their proposed product being sold, elaborate on what makes it unique, detail the market research they have conducted, identify their source of finance and confirm their company structure and trading name.
Our ‘sharks’ asked insightful and thought-provoking questions prompting further review and fine tuning of each group’s business proposal.

With mouth-watering names like 'S'mores on Cloud 9', 'Sip and Dip Co.', 'Souvlaki Sizzlers', 'Nacho Bowl Bandits', 'Sweet Tooth' and 'Patties Palace' there is going to be a wonderful selection to purchase from on Market Day.

Each year as part of their coaching unit of work, Year 9 PASS students have been working with our Pre-School students to put their learning into practice by teaching them fundamental movement skills.
