What a fantastic morning celebrating World Bicycle Day! 🚲
More than 25 bikes were serviced, students enjoyed a free breakfast, and many took the opportunity to register for free bike locks and the bike access program. 🔐🍳🥓☕
A huge thank you to the City of Belmont for their support and to all the staff and students who helped make the event such a success. 🎊

Last week our school community acknowledged Sorry Day as part of National Reconciliation Week with the theme, All In. Our Aboriginal Student Leadership group led a smoking ceremony, an important practice that has been used for thousands of years to welcome everyone together and to cleanse and heal people and places. Our senior music students also performed the anthem for All In 2026 with a recess performance of Midnight Oil’s Beds Are Burning.

Our Year 7 Clontarf boys recently enjoyed another successful overnighter camp, spending their very first night sleeping in swags under the stars at Belmont Clontarf Academy. ⛺🏕
🍔Despite the cold weather and drizzle, the boys had an awesome time bonding with mates, bouncing at Bounce Cannington, enjoying burgers together, and finishing the experience with morning gym training and a healthy breakfast. 🏋🏽♂️🍳
We’d also like to introduce Kevin the Karda — our new mascot lizard who will be joining us on future Clontarf adventures! 🦎

🚛Students visited K-Trans for an eye-opening tour of their trucking and logistics operations, exploring the painting bays, mechanic workshop, and wash bays, while gaining valuable knowledge in weight ratios and load strapping techniques. 🔨
🚜A personal highlight of the day was the opportunity to climb inside the cab of a truck and be walked through its key safety features, before capping off an incredible experience with a ride-along in the reach stacker. 🚚

🌱On Friday morning the Environmental Champions Committee joined the team from the City of Belmont to help rejuvenate Redcliffe Park. The students worked with incredible purpose, determination, and cooperation, successfully planting over 2,000 native plants across the area. 🌿
The City of Belmont staff were truly impressed by the students' positive attitude and their genuine commitment to caring for their local community. It is a powerful reminder of the lasting impact young people can have on the world around them. 🌳

🎊✨Last week, Belmont City College celebrated Harmony Week, a time in Australia dedicated to recognising and celebrating the nation’s cultural diversity. The week brings together people from all backgrounds to promote inclusiveness, respect, and a strong sense of belonging.
In today’s global climate—where division, conflict, and uncertainty often dominate the news—the idea of harmony feels more important than ever. Throughout the week, our school community took part in a range of activities and performances, including cultural dances, karaoke, and a sausage sizzle. Students and staff also had the opportunity to wear cultural dress and join in a traditional flag parade led by a Lion Dance, which brought the celebrations to a close.
Harmony Week serves as a reminder that connection and respect are not just ideals, but essential foundations for a more peaceful and sustainable future.✨🎊
