Fine Motor Fun Friday at Write Start Education!
Today our little learners strengthened their fine motor skills through hands-on activities that build coordination, concentration and confidence. From threading and sorting to squeezing and creating, every little movement helps prepare tiny hands for big learning! ✨

We love practising our names at Write Start Education!
This week, we mixed things up and challenged our learners to find their names hidden in a giant word search.
Not only was it lots of fun, but it also helped build letter recognition, visual scanning skills and confidence in recognising their own names. The excitement on their faces when they spotted their name was priceless! 😊

Did you know that one of the most important early literacy skills is recognising and writing the letters in your own name?
A child's name is often the very first word that has meaning to them. Learning the first letter of their name helps children begin making connections between letters and sounds, while recognising the remaining letters builds familiarity with the alphabet and supports future reading and writing success.
At Write Start Education, we love helping children learn the letters in their name through hands-on activities, games, crafts and play-based learning. Watching their faces light up when they can confidently identify and write their own name is always a special milestone!
If your child is still learning the letters in their name, don't worry. Every time you point them out on artwork, labels or signs, you're helping build strong foundations for literacy.
The learning that happens when you don't even realise it!
I had absolutely no idea that Benjamin knew the alphabet song. We often have it playing in the car, mixed in with what feels like an endless playlist of Leo the Truck on repeat 🚚🎶, but I never thought to actually ask him to sing it.
Well, yesterday proved me wrong! Benjamin happily sang the entire alphabet song over and over again and I sat there amazed.
It was a wonderful reminder that learning doesn't always look like worksheets, lessons or obvious achievements.
Our children are constantly listening, observing, and soaking up information from the world around them. Even when they aren't showing us their learning every day, their little brains are busy making connections and storing knowledge away, ready for the perfect moment to shine. 🌟
Sometimes the biggest learning surprises come when we least expect them. ❤️

Making Writing Fun!
Learning to leave spaces between words is an important early writing skill, but that doesn't mean it has to be boring!
Our tutoring students love creating their own Spacing Wands to help them remember where one word ends and the next begins.
Not only are they a fun craft activity, but they also give students a hands-on tool to build confidence and independence in their writing.
When learning feels like play, amazing things happen!
