Wanyara Paint Session β Grade 3
Our Grade 3 students recently participated in a wonderful Wanyara Paint session, where they explored Aboriginal symbols connected to our local area in Melbourne. Throughout the session, students learned about the meaning behind these symbols and used them to create their own personal stories.
The students had an amazing time engaging in this creative and meaningful experience, demonstrating curiosity, imagination, and respect for Aboriginal culture and storytelling traditions.
As a cohort, we also collaborated on a special artwork that represents every student. Each child contributed the same symbol to signify themselves, ensuring that everyone was included and connected within the final piece. This collective artwork celebrates our community and the stories we share together.
We are excited to display this beautiful piece somewhere in the school for all to enjoy and appreciate.

On Wednesday the 20th, Grade 4 students enjoyed an exciting excursion to the Melbourne Museum, taking their learning beyond the classroom walls. The day began with a visit to the IMAX theatre, where students watched an inspiring documentary featuring Jane Goodall and learned about the positive impact individuals can have on the world around them.
Throughout the day, students explored a range of fascinating exhibits, including the First Peoples Gallery, Melbourne Story, the Forest Gallery, and the new Our Wondrous World exhibition. The excursion was a wonderful opportunity for students to deepen their understanding through hands-on learning and discovery. Overall, the students had a fantastic day and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
