Good evening Facebook.
We are publishing this post in order to remind the community of the behavioural expectations on the public transport systems. However, this post is specifically aimed at current Year 12 students who are concluding their time at respective schools, before beginning their preparation for exams.
We would like to congratulate all the year 12 students on reaching this point in their school life, and encourage them in celebrating what is a fantastic achievement. Go out, see your friends, stay safe but most of all just enjoy the night and soak up the last few moments with your fellow classmates!!!
We would also like this post to be a reminder of the public transport etiquette that should be observed when using the system going to and coming from any celebration locations. Remember to always be aware of and respectful of other passengers, and aim to adhere to the etiquette guidelines we recommended in our previous post.
Best of luck for exams, study hard!
Regards,
The admin team
Ban Star of the Sea from Gardenvale station
Like this page to protest against the poor train station etiquette exhibited by Star of the Sea students at Gardenvale train station.
21/09/2017
Good evening,
As of September 22 2017, Etiquette Inspectors from our organisation will be patrolling trains, trams and buses around metropolitan Melbourne.
Their aim is to ensure all metro customers are following the general public transport etiquette guidelines, and to appropriately deal with those who are not.
Etiquette inspectors will be carrying these badges and may operate in uniforms or plain clothes.
Remember that the Metro trains, Yarra trams and Metropolitan Bus services are designed to offer Melbourne smooth running, reliable, helpful, comfortable and enjoyable transport. Upholding public transport etiquette is extremely important in allowing this to happen.
The time for change is here!
Regards,
The team.
Good morning all,
We hope you are all enjoying your use of the Public Transport Victoria system. While it may seem we have been dormant in the recent months, we have been shifting our focus from the Star of the Sea situation to wider issues.
We have begun tackling transport etiquette problems that effect every day Melburnians. As of 14 September 2017, Etiquette Inspectors from our organisations will patrol the networks throughout the whole metropolitan area. Citations will be issued for the following offences:
-Boarding trains/trams before allowing others to disembark
-Storing bikes in carriage thoroughfares
-Playing music loudly from earphones
-Failure to open doors for other passengers
We hope to work towards a situation where etiquette on public transport is ubiquitous around Melbourne.
Regards,
The team
Good evening all.
Some of our team members have identified some issues regarding public transport etiquette at various locations, but in particular certain stations along the Sandringham line. In light of this we would like to make an announcement reminding all users of the metro system of their responsibilities.
We feel that every public transport user should be aware and considerate of all other passengers, at all times. There is a level of etiquette that should be maintained around trains, trams or buses. This includes, but is not limited to:
-Allowing passengers to disembark the train/tram before boarding yourself
-Allowing all passengers to use myki barriers and access ramps
-If you are sitting in a priority seat, offer it to the people they are there for
-Being helpful to those disembarking a crowded train or tram by stepping out of the way, even if it means momentarily exiting and then reentering the train/tram
Finally, this post is not aimed at any individuals or groups and these tips are only here to remind the public of what we feel are some common courtesies to keep in mind when using public transport.
Safe travelling,
The team.
Good evening community,
We hope you are enjoying your use of the Metro Train system, and that we have taken a big step towards achieving our goal of spreading a message throughout the community. Coming into the weekend, the team would like to wish you all a safe and enjoyable experience on trains, trams or buses over the next couple of days. Remember to stay respectful of all other passengers and take their rights into consideration. Common courtesies such as allowing passengers to disembark before you board and using the Myki barriers fairly and appropriately, will ensure the wellbeing of others and smooth running of the public transport services.
Public transport etiquette is important, don't forget it!
We hope you enjoy the weekend!
The team.

Admin
Good evening community members,
We are glad to see this page is receiving lots of positive responses, however it seems there have been some misunderstandings regarding the intentions of this page. We would like to address these now.
We acknowledge that the page title is misleading, as the banning of access to Gardenvale station is not our immediate wish. The page title is an attention-grabber that we used to generate publicity for the page. As previously stated we only intend to look towards some sort of ban if the etiquette exhibited by students at the station does not improve.
In reality, our most desired outcome is to move towards a future where Star of the Sea students and the wider Gardenvale community can enjoy an improved relationship. One in which everyday commuters and students can use the public train station in a respectful and peaceful manner. From our point of view, this would stem from the students becoming aware of and respectful of other travellers.
The way in which we feel Star of the Sea's students could improve their train station etiquette was outlined in our post from this morning.
Sincerely,
Admins
Listen up girls! If the train etiquette does not improve we will protest to ban you from our station!!!
Good morning,
We are a non for profit organisation that hopes to improve the well being of Gardenvale citizens as well as send a message to the wider community.
A current issue in the Gardenvale scene is the poor train etiquette shown by Star of the Sea students at before/after school peak hours. General train courtesy is not observed in the following ways:
-Girls board the train before allowing passengers to disembark
-When girls do allow passengers to disembark they stand directly in front of the door in a large group
-Girls form an impenetrable blockade through the myki barrier
-Girls walk in groups of three or four along the platform ramp
GIRLS, when using the station please try to:
-Allow passengers to disembark the train before you board, and wait to the side when doing so
-Walk through the myki barrier on one side to allow others to use the sensors/enter the station
-Walk down the platform ramp on one side so that other people can also use it
We hope these pointers are taken into consideration. If not, the protests to have you BANNED from Gardenvale station will begin.
Thank you,
