Study Functional Nutritional Therapy through the NTA, and discover your greatest potential
"Open the door to a new way of thinking
about the body's innate intelligence and ability to heal." Nutritional Therapy Practitioner Program
The NTA teaches its Nutritional Therapy Practitioners (NTPs) how to help their clients restore balance in the body. This is done primarily through nutrition, and it requires extensive knowledge of anatomy, physiology, biology and epigenetics; about the human
body as a complex, interconnected organism rather than a series of separate body systems. NTPs need to understand the effect of chemicals, toxins and an inadequate diet on its functioning, and how to help undo the damage these create. They must also guide their clients to make the lifestyle changes that will support their recovery. As an organisation, the NTA's philosophy is that the modern day health crisis is a result of weakness in the body’s physiological foundations brought on by poor nutrition. We also believe that:
- We are all bio-individual; that our genetic and environmental makeup can determine our unique nutritional needs.
- Our bodies have an innate intelligence that will tell us what our body needs. Study through the NTA is structured as a one-year distance education program. The course requires 15-20 hours of intensive study per week, and involves viewing and listening to pre-recorded lectures, a substantial book list and course notes, phone lectures and online classes, contact with other NTPs, ongoing online communication and three live workshops throughout the course year. We offer a professional-level course with no pre-requisites, able to be undertaken by both professionals and non-professionals alike. The National Association of Nutritional Professionals (NANP) includes NTA’s Nutritional Therapist Training Program in their Approved and Recommended Holistic Nutrition Education Programs. NTA is also a Cornerstone Member of the American Nutrition Association. The NTA has now trained over 3000 practitioners world-wide from a variety of backgrounds - physicians, naturopaths, chiropractors, dieticians, and anyone with a passion for nutrition. Our organisation has spawned many bestselling authors such as Nora Gedgaudas of the “Primal Body Primal Mind” fame, Mickey Trescott, author of “Autoimmune Paleo”, Margaret Floyd, author of the “Eat Naked” and Tosca Reno, New York Times best selling author and creator of the “Eat Clean Diet”. Our NTPs continue to promote the concepts they have learned through many different mediums, instigating positive change in the lives of the people they touch. We are closely aligned to a growing network of practitioners and organisations all devoted to the same passion for functional health and well being, our flora, fauna and our environment. Our mission is to work and grow together to shift the current health paradigm; to restore properly prepared, nutrient-dense whole foods to the human diet through education.
