๐ค Which ones reflect your passions and values?
๐ How does this impact what motivates you?
๐ What about your team and organisation? Where do they fit?
๐ Have you thought about what your learners are passionate about? What do they want? Freedom, knowledge or maybe control?
๐คฉ Understanding your learners at this level can help you to design a solution that engages them and taps into their motivation.

๐ Scientific studies show that varying learning conditions makes learning more challenging but results in improved long-term retention (J***y, 2020).
๐ Practical actionsโ
โ
๐ Create a mix of retrieval practice activities. For example, multiple choice questions, drag and drop questions, scenario questions, branching scenario questions, role plays and simulations (J***y, 2020). โ
๐ Enable the learner to practice in different contexts (J***y, 2020). To do this think about the situations that your learner will face relevant to the action you are training. For example, in a meeting, in the office or in a company vehicle. This prepares them for more situations that may take place in the real world.โ

๐ฌ A script to respond with when a stakeholder wants to make a change that is out of scope. โ
โ
๐คฉ This will help the stakeholder demonstrate the value of the change and if it does help you achieve the success statement. Moral of the story, do not underestimate the power of a success statement. Regardless of where you are in the project, we recommend you co-create one with key stakeholders and have them approve it.โ

โก๏ธ Do you want to improve the visual design of your learning solutions? โ
โ
Skip a weight when you are changing font weights. For example go from:โ
โ
Light to bold โฝ๏ธโโผ๏ธโ
Medium to extra bold โพ๏ธโโฌ๏ธโ
โ
The key is to create greater contrast. โ
โ
We learnt this tip from Chris Do's YouTube videos on typography (Do, 2016).โ

Do you want to transform a face-to-face induction to an online one? ๐ฉ๐พ๐ซโก๏ธ๐ป
Our team has written a complete case study of how we created a user-focused and impactful induction for our client. It takes you through the process that we took to transform an inconsistent and costly face-to-face induction experience to eLearning.
The process revealed through the case study enables you to gain an understanding of how we were able to create a user-focused and impactful online learning solution. From managing the project to developing the solution into existence, our aim for this case study is to demonstrate how we do what we do and inspire and educate you for your own projects.

๐คฉ Do you want to create learning solutions that engage your learners?โ
โ
If you step into the shoes of the people who are impacted by your solution, it will increase the likelihood of:โ
โ
๐ your learners being engaged with your solutionโ
โ๏ธ your learners changing their behaviour โ
๐ฏ you meeting your goal.โ
โ
We have experienced these results at Belvista Studios. โ
โ
Have a go at stepping into the shoes of your learners and designing your solutions from their perspective. To gain this insight, ask them questions like:โ
โ
โ What is important to you? โ
โ What are your expectations? โ

๐ป It is important to consider that behaviour change can happen (or not happen) due to many reasons that may be separate from the learning solution. Prevent your training solution from being ineffective. But, do this in your course design, not post the course.
๐ Explore if there are environmental factors impacting behaviour change such as a supervisor not allowing the learner to change or the fact that they personally have no desire to change themselves and therefore choose not to. Understand the context of the learning audience in order to create effective training.

๐คฉ โNeed to knowโ information is the information that will help you meet your project goal. To do this, have your project goal visible and as you are going through your information, continually ask yourself, โwill this information help me meet my project goal of X?โ If it will not, leave it out.
๐ For example, if your project goal is for โleaders to hold effective and timely performance conversationsโ, a policy about bullying and harassment may not be โneed to knowโ information.
