A big thank you to Brisbane Adventist College for visiting our centre and presenting an informative session for our families about the transition to Prep.

The presentation provided valuable insights into school readiness and highlighted important factors for parents to consider when choosing the right school for their child. It was a wonderful opportunity for families to gain a deeper understanding of how to support their children’s learning and development as they prepare for this exciting new chapter.

We sincerely appreciate the time and expertise shared by the Brisbane Adventist College team. Thank you to all the families who attended and engaged in the session. Working together, we can help every child make a confident and successful transition to Prep.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Black Cockatoo Education and Ms Sally for the wonderful training session last night.

The Aboriginal 8 Ways of Learning training was engaging, inspiring, and provided us with valuable insights into embedding Aboriginal perspectives in meaningful ways. It encouraged our team to reflect on our practices and explore how we can apply these approaches within our educational program.

We truly appreciate your knowledge, passion, and guidance. Thank you for an amazing evening of learning and inspiration!

During Reconciliation Week, our educators thoughtfully prepared a variety of engaging activities that celebrated and explored Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures.
Through storytelling, Indigenous art, music, nature-based experiences, and meaningful discussions, children had the opportunity to learn about Australia’s rich First Nations heritage.
Educators also explained the significance of these activities in an age-appropriate way, helping children develop respect, understanding, and appreciation for the importance of reconciliation, diversity, and caring for Country. These experiences supported children’s sense of belonging and encouraged them to value different cultures and perspectives from an early age.

On Anzac Day, our children took part in a special wreath-making activity. 🌺

Using their little hands, they carefully created their own wreaths with leaves and flowers. Through this simple activity, we introduced the meaning of the day in a gentle and age-appropriate way—learning about remembrance, gratitude, and respect.

It was more than just an art activity; it was a meaningful moment of learning and reflection.

Wishing everyone a Happy Anzac Day ❤️
Lest we forget.

Our Kangaroo Kindy children enjoyed their very first excursion adventure to the wonderful Karawatha Discovery Centre 🦘🌿

Each year, we love taking our Kindy children out to explore the wonders of nature, and this year’s visit was extra special as it connected beautifully with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture.

The children experienced Indigenous art and painting 🎨, listened to stories, enjoyed songs and traditional instruments, and sat together on the yarning circle mat as they took part in each activity. They were completely engaged and loved every moment of the experience.

Afterwards, we explored inside the Discovery Centre, where the children discovered different ecosystems, weather changes, and the native animals that live in Australian forests. The displays were so realistic and exciting that the children were fascinated from beginning to end!

It was a wonderful day full of learning, curiosity and joy, and we are so proud of how beautifully the children participated in their first group excursion. ✨

A Special Visit from the Veterinarians 🐾

Today, we had the pleasure of welcoming the wonderful veterinarians from Plus One Vet Sunnybank Clinic — Dr Leo and Dr Kevin — along with their lovely doggy friend Haru. The children were absolutely thrilled to meet them!

Dr Leo shared valuable knowledge about dog health and helped the children understand what veterinarians do in their daily work. It was a meaningful learning experience that introduced the children to the importance of caring for animals and keeping pets healthy.

In addition, we were joined by two more adorable dogs — Mocha and Hunter, belonging to Ms Li and Ms Lydia. Having these friendly dogs visit allowed the children to interact with them up close, which brought so much excitement and joy to everyone.

It was truly a fun, educational, and memorable experience for the children. We are very grateful to our special guests for taking the time to visit and share their knowledge with us.

Thank you for helping us create such a wonderful day! 🐶✨Plus One Vet
