Congratulations to our mock trial team, who successfully won a trial against Guilford Grammar School on Monday night, 16 June, 2026. This takes their success rate to 3/3 in the regular rounds of the Law Society of WA's Mock Trial Competition. 🏆👏

The competition runs at the Old Supreme Court building and is judged by volunteer lawyers (playing the role of judge), while students take on the roles of barristers, solicitors, court officials, and witnesses.

Well done to the team of year 11 and 12 students, including captain Keona, and Cooper, Jahnavi, Munrose and Ava. And a big thank you to the volunteer lawyer Conor McCavana of MinterElliston, who coaches the team.

The top 16 teams (of 120 entered) will make it through to the final knockout rounds, announced next month.

This week, we’re running a series of events to support Men’s Health Week 💙
“Burgers, Banter and Balls” was a sports-filled session for year 12 boys and male teachers on Monday. A range of presentations provided information on physical and mental health, road trauma, skin and testicular cancer, and lifestyle factors.
Today, staff enjoyed a barbecue cooked by some of our male teachers, with information and quizzes to boost their knowledge of men’s health.
Stay tuned for “Wear it Blue Day” on Friday, when the whole school will change its hue 🔵 Students are encouraged to wear blue accessories, such as ribbons, socks, scarves, badges and hair accessories alongside their usual school uniform.

Our ❄️ HUB Winter Market Day❄️ on Friday, 5 June, was a fantastic success, with a wonderful turnout from staff and students.
The market was extremely busy throughout recess and lunchtime, with students proudly selling their handmade creations, homemade soup, fresh bread rolls, and hot beverages.
The event provided valuable opportunities for students to develop their customer service, teamwork, communication, and money-handling skills while building confidence and independence.
Congratulations to our raffle winners: Desiree (Teacher), Lydia (Year 7 Student), and Zannateen (Year 10 HUB Student).
Thank you to everyone who supported our HUB Enterprise. We are incredibly proud of our students and their hard work on the day.

💙Thank you to the Rotary Club of Southern Districts for your generous community grant of $2000. 💙
This support will allow Canning Vale College Breakfast Club to purchase essential food items such as milo, cheese, bread, jam, cups, and napkins, as well as replace vital equipment including toasters, sandwich makers, and microwaves.
Your contribution ensures we can continue providing breakfast to more than 100 students every day. A nutritious start to the morning helps students stay engaged, improves attendance, and supports their development into positive, active members of the community.
We are sincerely grateful for your commitment to our students’ wellbeing. 🙏

🧸Our Year 9 Childcare students have been hard at work on Task 2, creating a soft toy for a newborn baby! 🪡
Students could choose to make a teddy or select their own pattern, with many using blanket stitch techniques to bring their creations to life.💛
