Today is the Winter Solstice! ❄️

Today marks the shortest day of the year in Australia.

In many parts of southern Australia, there will be only about 9½ hours of daylight today, compared to more than 14 hours in summer.

That's nearly 5 fewer hours of sunshine! ☀️

The good news? From today onwards, the days start getting longer and lighter again.

🌅 Maths is everywhere - even in the changing seasons! 🧠
