CREST are Soccer Champions again! 🏆⚽️

Yesterday, both our Junior Boys and Junior Girls were crowned champions in the South East Schools Cup, in a memorable day of football that showcased skill, resilience and outstanding sportsmanship.

The Junior Boys defeated St Francis Xavier in a dramatic penalty shootout after a hard-fought final. Goalkeeper Jackson King proved the hero by saving two penalties, before Jacob Orisajinmi calmly converted the decisive spot kick to secure the title.

The Junior Girls also demonstrated tremendous determination in their final against Gleneagles. With the match extending into extra time, Isla Deal produced a stunning strike to seal a well-deserved victory and complete a fantastic campaign.

Adding to the celebrations, William Hobson and Isla Deal were both recognised for their exceptional performances throughout the tournament, receiving the Player of the Tournament awards.

As the football world turns its attention to the opening of the FIFA World Cup, it is fitting that we also celebrate the examples of teamwork, perseverance and excellence displayed by our own students. Their achievements remind us that sport provides opportunities not only to develop talent, but also to demonstrate character, humility and encouragement towards others, showing characteristics of Jesus through sport.

Both teams played with great heart and represented Crest Education in a manner that our entire school community can be proud of. Congratulations to all of the players and staff involved in this outstanding achievement!

2 more Championships for our Junior & Senior Soccer stars! 🏆⚽🏆

CREST’s Soccer program reached another milestone yesterday, with both our Junior and Senior Boys teams claiming titles at the State Christian Schools Championship at La Trobe Sports Park, the home of the Matildas.

In their first appearance at the competition, both sides dominated the group stages, with the Juniors defeating Lighthouse Christian College (4–1) and Heritage College (3–0), while the Seniors recorded emphatic wins over Northside Christian College (6–0) and Lighthouse Christian College (5–0).

That form continued into the knockout rounds. The Junior Boys defeated St Andrews 3–1 before advancing via a penalty shootout after a 1–1 semi-final draw with Heathdale. The Seniors beat Waverley Christian College (Narre Warren) 2–0 and edged Heathdale 1–0 to reach the final.

In the deciders, both teams faced Waverley Christian College (Wantirna South). The Juniors secured a disciplined 1–0 win, while the Seniors triumphed in a tense penalty shootout, with captain Kojo-Derrick converting the decisive penalty kick.

These two victories mark CREST’s fifth title from six Christian State competitions this year, underpinned by professionalism, composure, and outstanding sportsmanship throughout.
