Last Friday, our Grade 5 and 6 students participated in the Winter Lightning Premiership, competing in a range of sports including soccer and netball.
Our students were outstanding ambassadors for Turrun, proudly demonstrating our values of Respect, Care, Kindness and Personal Best both on and off the field. Their teamwork, sportsmanship and determination were on display throughout the day.
We are thrilled to celebrate some fantastic results! Our netball team played exceptionally well, progressing all the way to the Grand Final, while our boys' soccer team claimed first place after a nail-biting Grand Final victory.
As a result of their success, our boys' soccer team has qualified for the Division Round next term. What an incredible achievement!
Congratulations to all of our students and their very proud coaches. We can't wait to see what comes next.

Today our wonderful School Captains, Sitayesh and Moksha, along with Mrs Miller, attended the annual Student Leaders Lunch hosted by Brad Battin MP.
The afternoon provided a fantastic opportunity for student leaders from across our local community to connect, share ideas and learn from one another. Students engaged in meaningful discussions about the qualities of effective leadership, the importance of leading by example and the positive impact young leaders can have within their schools and communities. It was also a valuable opportunity for Sitayesh and Moksha to reflect on their own leadership journeys and the ways they contribute to our school each day.
We are incredibly proud of our School Captains and the way they consistently live and demonstrate our school values. They are outstanding role models who represent Turrun with pride.

Building strong connections with our community and supporting children as they transition to school is an important part of life at Turrun.
Yesterday, Miss Snooks visited the children at Story House Aspen in Clyde North and shared one of her favourite stories, The Very Hungry Caterpillar. It was a wonderful opportunity for our future students to meet Miss Snooks, enjoy a story together and begin building positive and caring connections before they start school.
We love creating opportunities for children to become familiar with their future school environment and the people who will support them on their learning journey.
A big thank you to Story House Aspen for welcoming us. We look forward to many more opportunities to connect throughout the year!

This week, our Year 3โ6 students took part in an exciting incursion delivered by Computer Xplorers. Students had the opportunity to explore a range of hands-on STEM experiences, including game design, 3D modelling, robotics, and coding.
It was fantastic to see students problem-solve, collaborate, and develop their digital technology skills in such an engaging and interactive way.
We are also excited to share that Computer Xplorers will be offering an after-school club next term for students who would like to continue building their skills and interest in coding and digital technologies.

This term, our students participated in an exciting workshop led by professional visual artist Dan Elborne. During the session, students created individual artworks that will contribute to the neighbouring Springleaf Avenue public art installation, part of the new Springleaf Recreation Reserve.
It was a wonderful opportunity for our students to express their creativity while contributing to a meaningful community project. We are incredibly proud to know that the voices and ideas of our students will become part of a public artwork that our community can enjoy and explore for many years to come.
A BIG thank you to Mrs Page for all the hard work she has put into organising this project. What a special experience for the Turrun community!

Today we celebrated our incredible Education Support staff for Education Support (ES) Staff Day, recognised each year on 16 May.
At Turrun Primary School, our ES staff are the heart of our school. They support students, teachers, and families in so many ways, through classroom learning, administration, wellbeing, inclusion, and by helping create safe and supportive learning environments for everyone.
Their dedication, kindness, patience, and care make a lasting difference in the lives of our students every single day. We are so grateful for the passion and commitment they bring to our school community.
