What a fantastic effort from our Under 10 girls at the BCE Rugby 7’s West Competition! With two teams competing, both played brilliantly, showed wonderful teamwork and determination, and proudly made it through to the finals, finishing as runners-up.

We are so proud of their sportsmanship, enthusiasm and the way they represented our school!💚💛

Year 3 - Ocean Life Education🐠🌊

🐡What a fascinating way to start the week - on Monday, our Year 3 students had a visit from Ocean Life Education... and some sea cucumbers, star fish, sea urchins and a turtle!

🐙They loved getting up close and learning all about the amazing animals that live in our oceans. 🦀 It was an exciting hands-on experience that brought their learning to life and inspired curiosity about the natural world.

St Joseph's Prep Assembly

On Friday, our Prep classes had the school enthralled whilst they confidently took the microphone and shared with us all they had been learning about Jesus' life, including the time in which he lived and his messages.

During class time, Prep have been busy learning about the styles of homes that Jesus would have lived in, and then they each built one from clay.

There was also the opportunity to eat some of the foods from Jesus' time, such as raisins, bread, yogurt, dried fruit and olives.

Thank you to the families for supporting our Prep's learning through providing clothes, food and practising lines.

National Simultaneous Story Time 2026

📖Today, millions of children, parents, teachers, and library lovers across Australia and beyond came together to read Luna Roo at the same time - celebrating the joy of reading, storytelling and connection.

⚽Published by Little Book Press the story follows the spirited kangaroo Luna and her friends as they chase their football dreams across the outback, blending action, teamwork and fun to inspire young readers. Luna Roo was selected from 84 submissions from publishers around the country.

St Joseph's Netball | QC Cup 2026

Well done to our Years 5 and 6 girls who proudly represented St Joseph’s at the Queensland Catholic Netball Carnival at Downey Park on Monday!

Competing in the Under 11/12 Division B4, the team showed wonderful determination, teamwork and fair play throughout the day, finishing with 2 wins, 1 draw and several very close games. We are so proud of the girls for their fighting spirit and positive attitude... even playing through the rain!

NATIONAL SORRY DAY 26.05.26

Today, our school community marked National Sorry Day with prayerful reflection and meaningful action.

Students created a beautiful Sea of Hands as a symbol of remembrance, respect, and hope for reconciliation. This powerful visual reminds us of the importance of learning from the past and walking together towards a more just future.

This morning, representatives from our school attended the Benarrawa Sorry Day Ceremony, where they respectfully laid flowers in remembrance. We are especially proud of our Year 6 students who participated in the ceremony through reading, sharing their voices with courage and compassion.

We continue to stand together in truth, healing, and hope.

Year 2 recently had a wonderful visit from Healthy Harold - the lovable giraffe - and Natalie from Life Ed QLD!

Students enjoyed learning about nutrition, physical activity, personal safety, emotional wellbeing and respectful relationships in a fun and engaging way.
