Cranbourne Secondary College Celebrates 50 Years

On 22 October, Cranbourne Secondary College will open its doors to the community as we celebrate 50 years of history, learning, and achievement.

The event will feature an amazing collection of memorabilia from across the decades, including a special showcase of images from the Tom Randa Collection. Tom has been carefully curating a series of photographs from his extensive archive of negatives, bringing to life the memories, experiences, and moments that have shaped our college community.

These images will remind us of the wonderful learning, friendships, and fun we have shared throughout the years.

Today, we are giving you a glimpse of one of those memorable moments a day when we dressed up in true 1970s style. As always, our dress-up days brought a sense of fun, belonging, and appreciation for the past, while creating lasting memories for everyone involved.

We look forward to sharing many more stories and images as we count down to our 50th anniversary celebrations.

On Tuesday 21st July, we will be hosting Polyhood at the College. To remind us of just how powerful this celebration of Pasifika talent is, we look back to its earliest days in 2007, with these images capturing a truly memorable and joyful occasion.

We were delighted to welcome back Robert MacManus, Class of 1996, to the college to share his career journey in the music industry with our Year 11 VET Music Performance class.
Robert operates a record store called Sonic Rendezvous in Northcote and runs a music equipment rental business called Melbourne Backline. He shared about his extensive background in the music industry, playing in bands, touring and various backstage roles for a huge number of performances and concert tours, including acts like Kiss, Europe, Bay City Rollers, ACDC and many others. He brought a long an impressive collection of memorabilia, including backstage passes and concert programs, which students thoroughly enjoyed exploring.
Students gained valuable insight into the diverse career opportunities in music and learnt how to kickstart their own journeys, especially the importance of developing a network to support their career.
It was a great pleasure to have Robert here to inspire the next generation of musos from Cranbourne Secondary College.

"Senior Dance Night 2014 was a wonderful mid-year event for our senior students. Embracing the Gatsby theme, they dressed to impress and danced the night away."
