What a wonderful way to start the final week of term!
Our whole-school assembly was filled with celebrations of student achievement and talent. We enjoyed a fantastic performance of *Viva La Vida* by our Copper Strings ensemble, celebrated students who have participated in the Victorian High-Ability Program (VHAP), and congratulated Bradman House on being crowned our 2026 House Athletics Champions.
To top it all off, our Year 1 and 2 EEPS Got Talent finalists wowed the audience with an incredible range of performances, including violin, singing, dancing and even stand-up comedy. We are so proud of the confidence, creativity and enthusiasm our students shared on stage.
Congratulations to all of our performers, VHAP participants and House Athletics champions on a fantastic assembly!

This week in Sustainability and Biodiversity our Year 3 and 4 students have been using our native bee nesting guide to determine which bees are living in our pollinator houses. We have found nests of resin bees, masked bees, leaf cutter bees and even a grass carrying wasp! Weβre excited to see that some of the 7 native bees to Eltham have taken up residence in our specially created houses! π π π

Dive into learning! ππ¬π¦
Our Year 1 students have been exploring marine environments through their Land, Sea and Me inquiry unit. They created sea creatures from modelling clay, designed trioramas to showcase their habitats, and wrote informative factual texts about their chosen marine animals. Their finished projects combine creativity with their new learning.

Our Mentor Groups have been busy creating imaginative Six Sentence Stories! πβοΈ
Working in mixed-age groups, students collaborated to plan and write creative stories using the structure: Somebody, Wanted, But, So, Then and Finally. The stories showcased wonderful creativity, teamwork and problem-solving, with plenty of unique characters and exciting adventures.
Students have now begun illustrating their stories and are already bringing their ideas to life with colourful and creative artwork. We look forward to seeing the finished masterpieces when Mentor Groups meet again!

What a fantastic day at our House Athletics Carnival! πββοΈπββοΈ
It was wonderful to see students proudly wearing their house colours and giving every event their best effort. The day began in the mist and finished in beautiful sunshine, providing the perfect backdrop for a day full of participation, perseverance and fun.
A huge thank you to our parent helpers for their support throughout the day. Events like this simply couldn't run without your time and assistance. We are also grateful to all the staff who helped make the day such a success.
Well done to all students for their enthusiasm, encouragement and sportsmanship! πππβ€οΈ

This week our last group of Year 3 and 4 students explored stories of Australian immigration and identity through a range of historical and cultural perspectives. They learned about Aboriginal connections to Country by examining possum skin cloak stories and the importance of storytelling in preserving culture and history. Students also investigated the migration experience through Eva Schubertβs story, gaining an understanding of the challenges and opportunities faced by people arriving in Australia. Thank you to the parents who accompanied our groups to the Immigration Museum.
