This is exactly how we think about vocal technique.
The rules like breath support, understanding resonance, or pitch accuracy, aren't there to constrain you.
They're the foundation that makes genuine expression possible.
Singers who skip the fundamentals may sing well but mastering the foundations allows for a deeper understanding and range of what you can do.
Master the mechanics. Then let them disappear into the music.
Todays tip: Build skills that work consistently. 🎤
Progress often happens when we stop trying to control everything and start trusting our training!
Fun Fact: Singing is one of those rare activities that engage several areas of the brain at once.
Breath control. Pitch discrimination. Language processing.
Emotional expression. Working memory. All simultaneously.
Not just a pretty hobby!

Ever wondered why some notes feel easy and powerful, while others suddenly crack, strain, disappear, or feel like they belong to a completely different voice?
That shift may be related to registration: the different ways your voice naturally works across your range.
Registration can sound like one of those mysterious singing words teachers throw around… but it’s actually something every singer experiences.
Understanding it isn’t about becoming more technical. It’s about making singing feel easier, smoother, and more connected 🎶

Everyone talks about vocal technique... but what does it actually mean? 🤔
Well first of all, it isn't about sounding "trained", and certainly not robotic. It's about understanding how your voice works. It's learning what the edges are of your potential, capability and your vocal 'mechanism' or instrument, so you can use it freely, confidently, and without strain.
It involves the study of areas like: The Breath. Posture. Resonance. Pitch. Tone. All of it working together.
And it sometimes makes beginners a little hesitant, but, the reality is, it also is what makes singing so very accessible...because you already have all the puzzle pieces in you to craft a beautiful singing voice.
If you are an Adult Beginner, our Singing for Adult Beginners course breaks it all down in a way that actually makes sense.
