🔨 On the Road with Our Tiling Team!
Recently, Gimbal Training's Tiling Trainer, Don, and Business Development Officer, Marc, spent time onsite at Hamlyn Terrace on the NSW Central Coast, catching up with two talented 3rd-year tiling apprentices as they continue building their skills and experience in the trade.
There's nothing better than seeing apprentices develop confidence on the tools while gaining real-world experience under the guidance of experienced tradespeople.
Visits like these allow our team to provide support, track progress, and ensure apprentices are getting the most out of their training journey.
Why choose a career in tiling?
âś… Strong demand for qualified tilers across Australia
âś… Opportunity to work on a variety of residential and commercial projects
âś… Practical, hands-on work with visible results
âś… Excellent earning potential and opportunities to run your own business
âś… A trade skill that can take you anywhere
Already working in the trade but don't hold a formal qualification?
Through Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), your existing skills and experience may count towards a nationally recognised tiling qualification—without needing to complete a full apprenticeship.
Even better, funding is currently available for eligible NSW and Queensland residents, making it more affordable to gain the qualification you deserve.
If you've spent years on the tools and are ready to have your skills formally recognised, contact the team at Gimbal Training to find out if you're eligible.

It was fantastic to connect with so many people from diverse backgrounds and discuss the range of training opportunities available. It's always inspiring to see the community come together to support one another, build connections, and explore new opportunities for the future.

🎉 Congratulations to Shelby on completing his MSF30422 Certificate III in Glass and Glazing! 🎉
A huge milestone and a well-deserved achievement for Shelby, who has successfully completed his apprenticeship with CQ Glass and Screens in Mackay.
Throughout his apprenticeship, Shelby consistently demonstrated a strong work ethic, completing both his practical tasks and theory requirements within the required timeframes while often going above and beyond what was expected. His commitment to learning, positive attitude, and willingness to put in the extra effort made him a standout apprentice throughout his training journey.
His trainer Glenn had the pleasure of training Shelby in Mackay and said he consistently applied himself to both the practical and theoretical aspects of his apprenticeship, always meeting expectations and often exceeding them. Glenn also noted that Shelby was a pleasure to work with, bringing plenty of laughs along the way and never being short of a good joke during site visits.
Congratulations Shelby on becoming a qualified Glazier. Your hard work, dedication, and positive attitude have paid off, and we wish you all the best for the next stage of your career.
A big congratulations also to CQ Glass and Screens for supporting Shelby throughout his apprenticeship journey.
👏 Well done, Shelby!

You've put in the years on site, worked across countless projects, and built the skills that make a quality painter and decorator.
But if you haven't completed a formal apprenticeship, you may still be missing the qualification that proves it.
Through Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), your existing experience could count towards the CPC30620 Certificate III in Painting and Decorating — a nationally recognised qualification that validates the skills you've already earned on the tools.
Read our latest blog to learn more about how RPL works and whether you may be eligible: https://gimbalgroup.com.au/cert-3-painting-and-decorating-rpl/

Why Experienced Workers Should Get Qualified Through the TPEW Program
If you’ve spent years working in engineering fabrication, painting, or tiling, you already have valuable industry skills and hands-on experience. But without a formal qualification, many workers can miss out on better job opportunities, higher earning potential, and career progression.
That’s where the Trade Pathways for Experienced Workers (TPEW) program comes in.
Funded by the NSW Government, the TPEW program helps experienced workers turn their existing skills and knowledge into a nationally recognised trade qualification — without needing to start from scratch.
At Gimbal Training, we work with tradespeople who have built their experience on the job and are ready to take the next step in their careers. If you have at least 3 years of industry experience in engineering fabrication, painting, or tiling, you may be eligible to have your skills formally recognised.
A nationally recognised qualification can help you:
- Increase employment opportunities
- Improve job security
- Meet licensing or industry requirements
- Boost confidence and professional credibility
- Open pathways to future career growth
Our team makes the process straightforward and supportive, guiding you through every stage from eligibility checks to assessment and qualification outcomes.
If you’re ready to turn your experience into a formal qualification, contact Gimbal Training today and take the next step towards getting qualified and getting ahead.
