CARNLEY TAKES ON THE BIG FREEZE

There was plenty of excitement, laughter and a few icy squeals as Carnley House once again took on the FightMND Big Freeze Challenge.

In support of the fight against Motor Neurone Disease (MND), staff and students came together for this much-loved fundraising event, raising both awareness and funds for vital research into treatments and, ultimately, a cure.

Despite the sunshine making an appearance, participants still faced buckets brimming with icy water and plenty of ice cubes. The warmer weather may have taken the edge off the conditions, but there was no escaping the shock of an ice-cold drenching!

A huge thank you to Mr Salinas, Ms Tucker, Mr Limpitlaw, Miss McGrath, Nurse Tracey and our brave student volunteers who stepped up to the challenge and embraced the spirit of the event with enthusiasm and good humour.

The final fundraising total is still being confirmed, but every dollar raised will contribute to the important work of FightMND and help support research efforts to beat this devastating disease.

Thank you to everyone who got involved by wearing blue, purchasing an MND beanie, making a donation or cheering on our participants. Your support helped make the event a fantastic success and demonstrated the generosity and community spirit that makes St Mark's so special.

STEP BACK IN TIME

Our Year 1 students stepped back in time for their Play in the Past incursion!

Dressed in old-fashioned clothing, students experienced what school life may have been like in days gone by, with classrooms transformed into traditional schoolrooms and desks arranged in neat rows.

Throughout the day, students enjoyed hands-on activities including scone making, traditional games and the ever-popular butter making challenge — using a jar and marble! There was plenty of shaking, laughter and careful reminders not to break the glass.

It was a wonderful day of learning, discovery and old-fashioned fun.

🚨 PUSH UP LEGENDS UPDATE 🚨

At the halfway point, we've officially banked 71,000+ push-ups and reached 85% of our fundraising target.

Which means two things:

1️⃣ We're absolutely smashing it.
2️⃣ Nobody can comfortably lower themselves onto a chair anymore.

A massive thank you to our Push Up Legends who have spent the past few weeks voluntarily turning their arms into overcooked spaghetti for a great cause, raising awareness for mental health.

We're so close to our fundraising goal, so let's keep the momentum going! Every push-up and every donation gets us closer to the finish line. https://www.thepushupchallenge.com.au/fundraiser/StMarksAnglicanCommunitySchool

Let's finish strong and show everyone what happens when a community comes together and collectively decides that "just one more push-up" is a good idea.

Keep pushing for better mental health, Legends. The couch can wait. 💪🔥
