Dear Parents and Carers,
Today at school we conducted a Lockout Drill. The perimeter of the school was secured, and access to and from the grounds was restricted for the duration of the drill. We are very pleased with the timing and effectiveness of the procedure.

The Department of Education has adopted an all-hazards approach to disaster and emergency management. Schools are required to have an Emergency Management Plan (EMP) which outlines their response to any disaster or emergency. As part of the EMP, we carry out drills such as evacuation and lockdown to ensure staff and students are familiar with the procedures in case an emergency arises.

Congratulations to our incredible Concert Band on their outstanding performance at today’s Band Together Festival! Your musical talent shone brightly, and your exemplary behaviour and professionalism were remarkable throughout the event. The adjudicator was so impressed with one of your pieces, they remarked it was played as if they had composed it yourselves. We are immensely proud of each and every one of you for representing our school with such skill and spirit. Well done!

As Stage 1 students are expected to return from their excursion between 2:30 and 3:00 pm today, Elkhorn Street will be partially barricaded until all students have arrived back. Please be aware of the coaches and keep this in mind when accessing the area.

Over the long weekend, Fabian competed in the 2026 State Plate Championships. Representing Southern Districts Rugby Union, he played nine games across three days in Tuncurry, helping secure the State Championship title. Fabian is an accomplished athlete whose dedication and skill in both rugby union and rugby league has made him a standout among his peers. We are proud to see him backing up again this weekend in Parkes, where he will represent Sydney South West in the State Rugby League Championships.

The school is incredibly proud of Fabian’s achievements and commitment to excellence, on the field.
