This morning, our students enjoyed another inspiring Pathways Breakfast, this time exploring the diverse and rewarding careers available in the agricultural and animal industries. 🌱🐄🐑🐎🐝
Students had the opportunity to hear firsthand from a panel of Marian alumni who shared their unique career journeys, tertiary study experiences, and the many pathways that led them into their chosen professions.
A huge thank you to our wonderful guest speakers:
🐾 Courtney Agius (Class of 2016)
🌱 Alana Wooldridge (Class of 2021)
🐶 Dr Erin Eisenthuth (Class of 2017)
🚜 Patrick Leach (Class of 2025)
🦉 Patricia Constantino (Class of 2021)
Their stories highlighted the incredible variety of opportunities within agriculture and animal industries, demonstrating that there are many pathways to success. We are incredibly grateful that they returned to Marian to inspire the next generation by sharing their experiences, advice and passion.
Thank you to all our alumni for giving back to our community and showing our students what is possible beyond the classroom. 💚

Year 9 Applied Science students recently partnered with experts from Quantal Bioscience to investigate the ability of soil bacteria to generate electricity.
Students participated in learning techniques to extract the soil bacterias' DNA and then applied these to formulate 10 distinctly different samples.
Our wonderful experts, Blake and Mark, then took our samples back to the Quantal lab and we are awaiting the results of the DNA analysis to identify our bacteria. 🧬🧫🦠

Recently, our Year 8 students participated in a fantastic Formation Day led by the De La Salle Brothers. Throughout the day, students explored the idea that the Saints are real-life superheroes. They reflected on the qualities that make someone a hero and considered how the Saints demonstrated faith, courage, compassion, and service in their everyday lives.
Students also thought about the people they see as superheroes in their own lives and how they can follow the example of the Saints by helping others, standing up for what is right, and making a positive difference in their communities.
It was a wonderful day of reflection, learning, and faith formation for our Year 8 cohort.

Students are asked to donate groceries, scarves, beanies, blankets, toiletries, or Return and Earn vouchers.
Please ensure all donations are clearly marked with your House and placed in the Student Foyer.
