📚❤️ Celebrating our Wonderful Families at Tall Tree Landsdale ❤️📚
At Tall Tree Landsdale we are fortunate to have families that support our learning environments by donating their preloved books for our children to enjoy. Their continued kindness and support help us create a rich literacy environment where children can explore, imagine, and develop a lifelong love of reading.
The children in our Babies Room have been thoroughly enjoying the new books, and it has been wonderful to observe their curiosity as they turn pages, point to pictures, listen to stories, and engage with books alongside their educators and peers. The smiles and excitement captured in these photos highlight the positive impact your donations are having on our learning environment.
Books play a significant role in supporting children's development and learning. Through shared reading experiences, children are building early communication and literacy skills, developing confidence as learners, and fostering a sense of belonging within our learning community.
Learning Outcomes:
🌱 Outcome 1: Children have a strong sense of identity as they enjoy warm, responsive interactions and shared experiences with educators and peers.
🌱 Outcome 4: Children are confident and involved learners as they explore books, make discoveries, use their imagination, and develop curiosity about the world around them.
🌱 Outcome 5: Children are effective communicators as they engage with stories, develop vocabulary, interpret images, listen to language, and begin to understand that print carries meaning.
Thank you for partnering with us to support children's learning, development, and wellbeing. Your generosity is helping to nurture a love of books and literacy from the very beginning.

🌊 World Ocean Day Learning Experience 🐢🐠
Today, our Kindy children became Ocean Heroes as they worked together to rescue sea animals from rubbish and an oil spill during our World Ocean Day activity.
The children carefully removed plastic waste, fishing nets, and other rubbish from the ocean habitat before helping to clean animals affected by the pretend oil spill. Through hands-on play, the children explored the impact that pollution can have on marine life and discussed ways we can all help protect our oceans.
The children demonstrated empathy and care as they worked to save the animals, sharing their ideas about recycling, reducing waste, and keeping our waterways clean. They engaged in meaningful conversations about how our actions can affect the environment and the creatures that call the ocean home.
This experience supported children's understanding of sustainability and encouraged them to become active contributors to caring for our world.

🌱 Outcome 2: Children are connected with and contribute to their world by developing respect for the environment and understanding their responsibilities in caring for it.
🌱 Outcome 4: Children are confident and involved learners as they investigated environmental problems, shared ideas, and worked collaboratively to find solutions.
🌱 Outcome 5: Children are effective communicators as they expressed their thoughts, asked questions, and participated in discussions about ocean conservation.
What a wonderful day of learning, caring, and protecting our precious oceans! 💙🌏

🌿Makuru Learning Experiences 🍂
This week, we have been exploring Makuru, the Noongar season that brings the coldest and wettest time of the year in Western Australia. Through a range of engaging activities, the children learned about the changes that occur in the environment during this season.
Educators discussed how animals and plants adapt during Makuru and identified seasonal changes in our outdoor environment. Our creative experiences included painting rain clouds, creating weather collages, and using natural materials to make seasonal artworks. The children also enjoyed storytelling and songs that celebrated Noongar culture and the significance of Makuru.
We look forward to continuing our journey of learning about the Noongar seasons and deepening our connection to the environment. 🌧️🌿🍂
Learning Outcomes:
Outcome 2: Children are connected with and contribute to their world.
Outcome 4: Children are confident and involved learners.
Outcome 5: Children are effective communicators.

As Reconciliation Week comes to an end, we have been reflecting on our journey of reconciliation and how we have begun to embed meaningful practices and acknowledgments into our daily routines as a centre. All In means daily practices by all, creating an environment of inclusivity and a space for honest conversations about safety, building cultural capacity and collective accountability. We are excited to keep this mindset as we embark on all our celebrations and explorations in 2026!
Learning Outcome 1: Children have strong sense of identity

As part of our Reconciliation Week, we have been fortunate enough to display beautiful artwork made by one of our very own, talented educators.
“As a proud Whadjuk Noongar woman and educator, it is central to my philosophy to integrate Aboriginal perspectives into my practice and learning environment. I created these three pieces alongside my sister and an elder from my schooling community to highlight the journey of a child through early learning. Each piece centers a local bird including the Wardong (Raven), Manatj (White Cockatoo), and Kulbardi (Magpie). Underneath is a connecting river with community resting spaces throughout to represent each child's journey through transitioning between different rooms and development through these crucial milestones. The Wardong painting features numerous animal tracks and a series of meetings as nursery age children are taking their first steps into their learning journey. In the Manatj painting, these are larger community circles occur as toddler aged children find their connection to the world around them and grow an awareness to their role in those communities. Then finally in the Kulbardi painting there is a small track then leads off the canvas to represent the child's final steps as they leave early learning and enter formal schooling. Creating these pieces was such a joy and I hope that they provide a small moment of reflection on the importance of early learning.” – Maddy Colvin

💫National Simultaneous Storytime 📚
Every year, a picture book created by an Australian author and illustrator is chosen for a free nationwide reading event unlike any other. Millions gather in schools, libraries, homes, preschools and bookshops to read the same story, at the same time, out loud, together.
In 2026, that picture book is Luna Roo.🦘 Today Luna Roo travelled to all our rooms to be read and enjoyed by all in Landsdale. Reading and creating connections through stories is something which is at the heart of our learning and the children adore being engaged in the world of new stories and celebrations.
