Macquarie Fields High School

Week 10 is here! Check out the events for this week. We especially invite our Year 10 students and parents to attend the information evening for Year 11 & 12 on Tuesday at 6:30 pm in the hall.

On Friday 12th June, Macquarie Fields HS had the exciting opportunity to host the tournament with 49 teams from 12 different schools in the South West metropolitan region. This whole- day tournament followed a seven-round Swiss format where each player was given fifteen minutes per player per game. Over 200 students played on the edge, others nerving with "endgame".
MFHS had the participation with 2 senior team, 2 intermediate teams, and 1 junior team.

I am elated to announce that our Seniors Team A scored the highest score of 25.5 and came 1st🥇 Most players of this team didn't lose even a single game. We are so proud of them. Intermediates Team A came 3rd 🥉 scoring 20 points.

Congratulations to all the players and teams who put their best foot forward and participated. A special mention and extended congratulations to all the teams including Mihir N, Kusal Bhandari, Dylon P, Richard C, Jonathan Chan Jonathan John, Leo Sok, Luis G, Harji S, Ibrahim S, Saie P, Paul G, Vincent N, Koby S, Akshara M, Sarah G, Minh T, Hayden , Jeeva.

It has been a crazy two weeks of Football for our HPGE student athletes!

After dominating in the Hume Zone CVD (last week) and finishing runners-up, the Open Boys Football Team competed in the Sydney South West Regional Championships against the top teams representing their zones and schools.

Our boys were unfortunate not to see a few key moments fall their way. At such a high level tournament, the smallest of margins can make all the difference in this game. The boys stood tall, scored goals, matched it with some of the best teams in the region, and demonstrated that they belong at this level of football. While the outcome wasn't what we had hoped for, the experience gained and lessons learned will fuel the next chapter of this team's journey.
