The question is not what I think makes me a good singing teacher but what do YOU think makes a good singing teacher?

Mix voice… I keep getting FB reels from singing teachers popping up with claims to be able to teach singers to mix their “chest and head voices” together….
*Elisha gets confused look on her face (and not the usual confused look one gets when their teens start trying to explain Minecraft)*
In my head “mate, if you are doing that, you are a miracle worker coz I’m pretty sure it is impossible to sing in thick and thin fold simultaneously (or am I missing something?)”
It has been the topic of many conversations at the studio and the cause of debate as to what do singers/teachers actually mean when they refer to “singing in mix voice”. Luckily, I am surrounded by very talented teachers who know their stuff and we agree that mix is an acoustic affect rather than an anatomical state. So I created this fun little infographic (well, ChatGPT took my words and made it an infographic).
Isn’t singing and the teaching of singing interesting? 💜💜💜💜💜
