🎸 Guitar Thought for the Week

Most people overestimate what they can learn in a week and underestimate what they can learn in a year.

Ten minutes of practice today might not feel like much.

Ten minutes a day for a year can completely change your playing.

Keep showing up. Your future self will thank you.

🎵 Beginner Guitar Trap

A lot of people think they need to practise for an hour a day to improve.

Honestly? Most beginners would improve faster with:

✔️ 10 focused minutes
✔️ More consistency
✔️ Less random noodling

Small daily practice sessions beat one giant “guilt practice” on Sunday night. 😅

🎶 Guitar Progress Is Weird

One day you feel stuck.

The next day your fingers suddenly do the thing they refused to do all week.

That’s normal.

Your brain is building pathways in the background while you practise — even when it feels like nothing is happening.

So if guitar feels frustrating lately:

Keep going. You’re probably closer than you think. 🎸

🎶 Strumming Fix That Instantly Sounds Better

If your strumming feels stiff, this is probably why:

👉 Your wrist isn’t moving — your whole arm is

Try this:
✔️ Keep your forearm relaxed
✔️ Let your wrist do most of the work
✔️ Think “loose and floppy,” not “locked and strong”

Tension kills groove. Relaxed wrist = better rhythm.

🎵 The #1 Mistake Slowing You Down

Watching your fingers the whole time. 👀

Try this:
👉 Look away for a few chord changes
👉 Let your fingers learn the shape by feel

If you always rely on your eyes, your hands never catch up.

Muscle memory = freedom to actually enjoy playing.

🎶 Practice Smarter (Not Longer)

If you’ve got 10 minutes, don’t play 10 songs.

Try this instead:

👉 2 minutes – chord changes
👉 3 minutes – strumming
👉 5 minutes – one section of a song

Short, focused practice beats random noodling every time.

Consistency > marathon sessions you’ll never repeat.
