Tom is returning from a left lateral ankle sprain, with a significant history of lateral ankle sprains on both sides.

The main area for improvement in my eyes is Tom’s ankle stiffness; whilst not perfect on either foot, I feel he dropped more into a heel strike, more knee flexion and had less spring on his single leg drop jump (video 1 and 2). This reflected in his jump testing where his RSI (measure of springiness) was slightly down on his left

Tom’s working on these single leg drop jumps, as well as bounding (vid 3) to try get more spring on both sides .

Lana has been rehabbing a right lateral meniscus tear, and is nearing a return to running and eventually basketball, her main sport
Running on the treadmill, and in the clinic hallway, were both a little painful and looked a little hesitant , so we decided to instead focus on progressing her plyo (vid 2) and introducing change of direction mechanics (vid 3)

Interested in learning more about return to run / sport progressions ? Shoot me a message!

Thanks to Lana for agreeing to be part of this !

After nearly 4 years and 93 episodes , the Clinical Pearls podcast will be coming to an end.

Thank you to each and every person who took the time to listen to an episode - the support you gave the show was incredible

What started as a uni project became a great excuse to meet some amazing new people across the globe, including recording episodes across 8 different nations

I’ve learnt so much from interviewing my guests, and I hope you have too

Special mention to .physio who have helped to support me so much across the years.

I’m going to slowly transition episodes from Apple / Spotify across to Soundcloud, so watch this space for that

Enjoy the final episode this Sunday, and thank you all ❤️
